Villa Sofia, unique in its kind.
Located on a hill, behind the Iblei mountains and the imposing Etna volcano; with a splendid panorama of the city and the Siracusan coast, the villa is located near the town of Solarino.
A short distance away you can visit the ancient Greek city, Syracuse (about 16 km); the Necropolis of Pantalica in the Anapo Valley (one of the largest natural reserves in the Mediterranean), Noto (the capital of the Baroque), the Siracusan beaches and the various shopping centers (Auchan, Conforama, Carrefour).
At 35 minutes you arrive at Catania Fontanarossa airport.
The villa is on 2 levels.
Each with independent entrances, one of which is the home of the owners, in the second there are accommodation for guests which are divided into three independent sections:
a first apartment for up to 10 people, with 2 double bedrooms, a bedroom with bunk beds and several sofa beds, a bathroom with shower, a large and bright kitchen / living room with air conditioning;
2 wooden cottages (each one of which can accommodate 4-5 people), with a double bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds, a kitchen / living room and a bathroom.
Large lawn gardens surround it. Beautiful 6 x 14 swimming pool with diving board, whirlpool corner, comfortable solarium equipped with sun beds, deck chairs, and umbrellas.

Summary: This is a huge villa around 25 minutes from Syracuse. Its all about outdoor living at this villa. A pool, a bar (with pool table, table tennis, darts and a beer tap), outside showers and a big outside kitchen/living area. Owners are so helpful and generally onsite in the living accommodation they stay in. They are there if you need them and if you don't then you don't notice them. They do have a couple of very friendly little dogs and some local cats that enhanced my stay as I was missing my dog I left at home in kennels (but understand this is not for everyone). Sleeping accommodation is in three buildings. Two identical wooden cabins with air con (perfect for our teenage kids) and the bottom floor of the main building, also with air con. A total of 7 bedrooms. Hire car is essential as no walking, public transport or taxi options. Little village near by has a couple of eating places but if you are going out for the night do go into Syracuse/Ortygia as very beautiful with lots of good restaurants. Finally google translate is your friend in Sicily, used it to talk to owners, waiters etc. English is not as well used as on the Italian mainland from my experience.
