Positive: Superb outside area and pool. The villa has real ‘presence’. Spacious inside, perfect for small or large groups.

Negative: Internally the property is very dated. It’s difficult to give specifics but basically the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms need a lot of focus to bring them up to the standard that today’s traveller demands. In saying that we overcame the challenges and had a great stay at Villa Rina. It is a given you need a car to stay here and explore the local area. The road up to the villa is ‘interesting’ with lots of hairpin bends but generally safe.

Summary: Superb outside space at Villa Rina - Sicily was amazing

Positive: Lovely views and pool area. Quiet and spacious.

Negative: Kitchen is poorly equipped and laid out. Needs an oven and proper hob and dishwasher and better cupboard storage. Hot water and showers are really bad. Barely warm water and hopeless trickle out the showers. Electrics need a bit of work as all power goes off if you have the hob and a heater on.

Summary: Lovely Villa in quiet mountain location. Villa needs a bit of updating and hot water needs to be fixed.

Positive: Truly a beautiful property with far reaching views over the coast of Sicily. It's a Villa made for outdoor living and entertainment, with great facilities, fantastic pool and many areas to sit and enjoy the views or a book. The location is quiet and fantastically positioned, with Avola only 12-15 minutes by car and Noto and Syracuse close by. For us this was a great family base to explore Sicily and found Avola is a beautiful town, with a great feel and everything that was needed. The communication and hospitality of our hosts was perfect, we couldn't have asked for more, and would definitely book next time we visit Sicily.
