Positive: We were a party of 4 and we absolutely loved our short stay at this unique property. Be advised, if you want five-star luxury and modern amenities, this accommodation is not for you. However, if you are up for a unique experience of staying in a historical 500-year-old villa run by its owner, the charming Signora Mariella, definitely go for it. It felt as if we were in a movie. The things we loved included the frescoes, the antique furniture, the art, the beautiful grounds, breakfast in the garden, and the conversation with the ever so hospitable owner. The things to be aware of is lack of air conditioning, a slightly run-down state of the otherwise stunning building, some mosquitoes and moths which will inevitably fly into the room through the open windows since there is no A/C and it gets stuffy. To us the advantages by far outweighed the disadvantages and we would definitely stay there again and advise this place to our friends.

Positive: As one review I stumbled upon before booking put it: "To sleep in a place like this you must be willing to travel through time, forget that you are in 2024 and immerse yourself in a dream". Erected in the first half of the 1500s, it was commissioned by Cardinal Francesco Pisani to Andrea Palladio. The garden was established in the 1880s, commissioned by Countess Evelyn van Millingen Pisani. It has now been in the hands of Mariella Bolognesi Scalabrin for decades, who with her timeless elegance and exquisite storytelling welcomes guests looking for "un posto contemplativo", as she liked to put it.

Negative: You need to look beyond the "rough around the edges" identity of the villa - insects and animals of all kinds that thrive in the property's vast garden, no wifi, no proper A/C etc - if you're able to, you will find this place truly magical.

Summary: An incredible place, with an incredible history. Get into it with the right mindset.

Positive: We were welcomed by a fantastic lady with a flavor of class and dignity and it turned out she had leaved at Villa Pisani for more than 40 years. Unfortunately there had been a storm which had damaged the air-condition in the room that we were supposed to rent and as it was 40 degrees it would had been impossible for a Swede like myself to sleep in that heat. She was very understanding and sorry for the inconvenience and said we were free to go as she couldn't offer what was promised. We hope to return one day!

Summary: Lovely owner and land lady and we hope to stay next time!
