Summary: This was our second stay in La Pigouille and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is in a great location, only a short walk from the village square of La Noue where you can find a bakery, cheese shop, fishmonger as well as a couple of restaurants. There’s also a daily market on the square. At the same time, it’s only a short walk to the beach. La Piqouille is spotlessly clean and lovingly decorated. We immediately felt at home when we returned. Communication with the owner Béatrice is exemplary. In brief, La Pigouille is a great and comforatble base to explore the natural beauty of the Ile de Ré.

Summary: We had a lovely holiday. The house is extremely nicely decorated and well-equipped, with everything that you would need, including four very comfortable bikes. The location of the house is excellent. There are three boulangeries within a short walk or cycle and three lovely restaurants within a short walk, in the town square. You may need to book! The daily market has a good selection of produce and the fromagerie was a favourite of ours. The house is very close to a cycle path. We cycled to Le Gros Jonc several times. My husband and children hired catamarans and stand-up paddle boards. We travelled with an older relative, who caught the free bus from the village and joined us in the other villages. Saint Martin and La Flotte were also within reach on the bikes. There are also regular buses to La Rochelle and we spent a lovely day there.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, well-equipped and attractively decorated house. It has all you need for comfort and relaxation. Its position is excellent for exploring the island and riding the bikes provided. A good boulangerie and restaurant/bars are within walking distance, as are some wonderful beaches. We particularly enjoyed our trips to Saint Martin, but there is plenty of competition in terms of charming places to visit. La Rochelle is well worth seeing too - the Aquarium is very interesting. We are very keen to return!

Summary: We spent 6 days at this beautiful property. Béatrice is delightful to deal with; personable and happy to help with any detail. She speaks perfect English so communication is very simple in terms of rental contracts etc. The house is a beautiful mix of antique and modern and is excellently equipped with everything you need - for kitchen, laundry - there's even a hairdryer! No detail has been overlooked. We had a superb holiday, utilised the free bikes and really absorbed and enjoyed the total unique vibe of a holiday on L'ile de Ré. I cannot recommend highly enough.
