Positive: Everything was perfect. Superior Chalet has two bedrooms one is downstairs and the second one is upstairs. Bathroom is very fancy and also has a bathtub 🛁. Fridge and washing machine are in a separate room. Beakfast was varied every day and included traditional sirilankan dishes; so you get to know more about local traditional food. There is big garden at the front of the chalet with a swing. You can rent a bike for LKR 2,000 per day and can visit all nearby cities and beaches as it's more economical than tuktuks and saves time OR you can use the public transport which runs frequently with a bus after every 7-8 minutes and the bus stop is 8 minutes walk away from Vila Ovita.

Positive: Our stay at Villa Ovita was truly exceptional, and Damith is the best host one could ever ask for. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The property itself was stunning, cozy interiors decorated with elegant little details that made it so inviting we hardly wanted to leave. The front yard was equally charming, like something out of a mystical woodland fairytale. By coincidence, we stayed during Damith’s birthday, and he and his lovely wife prepared a special birthday lunch at their home. On our last night, Damith even made us a special dinner, and throughout our stay his breakfasts were so delicious and different every single day! If you’re considering booking this villa, don’t hesitate. We will definitely be returning and recommending Villa Ovita to everyone.

Positive: Sadly we stayed only one night. This place is a wonderful oasis with plants and animals. From the balcony or the terrace you can watch a lot of birds and palms squirrels jumping around. The place is wonderful decorated and the host is super friendly and welcoming. We definitely recommend to start here.

Positive: Disclaimer: as a courtesy of our host we were offered a stay in another accommodation, a villa called Wild Kiss. Essentially it is another villa located on the same territory as Villa Ovita. So the following review applies to our overall stay regardless of the facility (Villa Ovita or Wild Kiss). A lovely spot The place itself looks like a cozy oasis in the jungle: apart from a place to stay you get the beautiful garden with blooming flowers and trees, as well as peculiar herbs and spices that the host uses for cooking a breakfast. From the garden you can see some wild animals like parrots, squirrels, as well as geese and a lovely dog that live within the property. The villa is a quite place isolated from the main roads which is perfect if you need some peace. However it's only a 5min bike ride to the nearest coast, and all the restaurants are within 10 minutes reach. The Wild Kiss villa was beyond amazing in terms of design and convenience: everything is brand new, beautifully made. You get everything you need - from wifi and AC to cute fancy bathrobes 😌 Super amazing host We got the warmest welcome possible from the first minutes: despite arriving super late (around 1am), Damith, the host, offered us a home made refreshment drink and showed us around. My legs were super hurting after a long tour around the island so Damith organized for us a masseur visit right on the villa for the price cheaper than it would be in the salon Damith also arranged us a bike rental for the price and quality better than we previously got in Hikkaduwa. Food (obviously) The breakfasts were a true reason to start a day: every day a new dish, home cooked, with a plate of fresh fruit and fresh juice. Yum!

Positive: In a quiet location but only 10 mins from the beach, with lovely grounds. Accommodation is beautifully designed and carefully thought out. Danaith, our host was most welcoming and was available to help with transport and any other questions. Great breakfasts and Danaith not only arranged a massage for us, him and his wife cooked us a fantastic meal one evening. Highly recommended.

Positive: This was easily one of the loveliest places we’ve ever stayed, made even more special by Damith—the kindest, most hospitable host! When my husband and I stumbled upon this place, we knew it would be the perfect getaway for our anniversary trip. It looks exactly like the pictures—tucked away in lush greenery, down a quiet little alley in Talpe. You’d never expect a spot this peaceful, surrounded by nature, to be so close to the beach! We walked everywhere, and whenever we wanted to venture further, Damith helped us find a reliable tuk-tuk driver. Speaking of Damith—when I mentioned it was our anniversary, he messaged saying he would “arrange something.” We arrived to find the hut where breakfast is served decorated with balloons wishing us a happy anniversary! He even got us a cake to celebrate, which made our trip feel even more special. And the breakfasts he whips up every morning? Incredible. From traditional Sri Lankan dishes like egg hoppers to continental options, everything was delicious. My favorite was his omelets—I looked forward to them every morning. There’s also another villa right next to this one, which Damith had just opened in December 2024. We got a chance to take a look, and it’s absolute perfection as well! We always love staying in places like this—ones created with love by the locals themselves. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, I cannot recommend this place enough!
