Positive: Huge pool in great condition. Really private location for swimming and well maintained pool. Grounds are vast so lots of space for children to play and explore. The villa was very spacious and had everything we needed. Good amount of hot water for showers and lots of crockery / cutlery etc for cooking and dining at the villa. Super easy and quick drive from Pisa airport with at least two brilliant restaurants within a 5 minute drive (one is a 25 min walk with children).

Negative: The villa is charming and rustic - so not somewhere for people who want all of the mod cons. The pool is wonderful though and the villa clean and tidy. We felt that it was good value for money given the space on offer and the pool. The host is lovely and helped us book tables for evening meals.

Summary: Lovely large villa and great pool!

Positive: The villa is breath taking and absolutely huge! Our wonderful host Tiziana lives in a separate part of the house and we only saw here on the first and last day. We were a group of 11 and we never felt on top of each other. The building is a little rough around the edges and it’s not a 5 star hotel but that is what we loved about it. It’s full of history, art and charm. We went in September and all the rooms stayed relatively cool. There’s a few fans available for those that need them. The kitchen is a lovely space to us, we got by with the equipment available although it is minimal. The 2 fridges we’re a bonus. The pool area is beautiful and very private. Tiziana arranged for us to be cooked for on our first night and the chefs and food were amazing and accommodated well for the vegetarians in the group. We recommend a 25 min walk to Trattoria Boccondivino for dinner - everything was delicious and the service was great. Best to book in advance. All in all we had an amazing stay at Villa Ott and we are already planning a return trip. Thank you Tiziana!

Negative: Small things that didn’t stop us having the best time - lots of horse flies and mosquitoes, make sure you get bug spray and citronella insense. We could hear Tiziana’s dogs barking in the morning but it wasn’t at an unsociable hour. A few of the kitchen items were broken such as coffee pots and kettles but we made do. Some of the locks on the bathroom doors didn’t work well.

Positive: The villa is absolutely stunning! The pictures do not do it justice, you need to see it for yourself! You can really feel the history in every room of the house, stylishly decorated to add to the feel of the place! The kitchen is well equipped and has two fridges in it so plenty of room for a big group. The rooms are spacious and although there are no fans in every bedroom, the rooms were cool enough, if you left the windows open at night. The pool is stunning and spotless! Tiziana is a lovely host and I would not hesitate to recommend Villa Ott or visit there again myself.

Negative: This is not a negative and might be something normal for the area, so I'm just adding it for the people who will be renting the villa after us: you will need to do a shop before arriving and get basics like salt, sugar (if you use it) and bin bags for separating organic and general waste. If you are a big group and plan on using the BBQ - it is small so you may have to cook some of the food in the oven. Some of the previous reviews mentioned mosquitoes as a negative...I don't know how the owner can control the presence of mosquitoes so that's not a negative for me! But I'd advise you to buy insect repellent and coils for burning at night if sitting out )we did that and we were fine.
