Home away from home with everything you need for a fabulous holiday. No hidden costs on arrival. Air-con, wi-fi and safe all included. We will be here for your arrival and help you settle in. We leave you to enjoy your holiday but are on hand to help if you need us. The villa has a high traditional wooden ceiling that leads out through patio doors to a covered eating area and the pool. Inside the villa there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with a dinning and lounge area. The bathroom has a large wet room shower. The villa is set in a small child friendly enclosed olive grove with the road finishing just past the villa at a small church. It has plenty of private gated off road parking. Enjoy the warm weather in the swimming pool or sunbathe on the patio, but why not take your siesta under an olive tree. A peaceful location within easy reach of the beach and the village with three fantastic restaurants and a mini market . Kissamos town is 10 mins drive where you will find all the amenities, banks, post office, shops, internet cafe, restaurants, chemists, and medical centre. There is also a local tour operator in Kissamos ‘Strata Tours’ which organise many varied activities as well as the usual tours. There are a few little sandy bays (ideal for young children) on the way to Kissamos which have many beach front tavernas and coffee shops. The beautiful beach of Falasarna is 15 mins drive with Elafonisi about 1 hour away. Both of these beaches have long expanses of sand and blue seas. The blue lagoon at Balos can be reached by road in a 4x4 with a 10 min walk down to the beach. The port of Kavonisi is nearby with daily cruises to Gramvoussa and the beautiful blue lagoon of Balos. Car hire is essential to explore this unspoilt area of Crete with its many little coves and hidden treasures. Kissamos has a wine factory with free tours and tastings. The popular town of Chania is only 35 mins drive with its Venetian harbour and shops Limnopoli Water Park is not to be missed and is only 40 mins away near Chania. For the gardeners there are the Botanic Gardens which has a restaurant for a cooling drink or something to eat. Lake Kourna is a fresh water lake about 1 hour away with tavernas and pedalos for the energetic. The really energetic may even want to tackle the Samaria Gorge. There are many more local places of interest to visit. Easyjet and Ryanair now fly into Chania airport which is a 50 min drive away. We will send you a map and directions after booking and we will be on the other end of the phone line should you encounter any problems.

Summary: Arriving at the villa among the olive groves, one feels miles from anywhere. However, the village where one can eat delicious Cretan food, get drinks & snacks with locals, is a ten minute walk along the tracks. The unspoilt town of Kissamos is a ten minute drive. Nearby are lovely beaches. This is a working agricultural area, still relatively unspoilt by tourism.

Summary: What a find! A Villa with a private pool in a fabulous location to visit some amazing places and the bonus of a beautiful beach that is only a 15 minute stroll away which we had to ourselves most mornings. What a fabulous start to the day swimming in the crystal clear water. Dan and Lea are wonderful hosts and on hand to help with anything, the Villa is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need. I am a keen swimmer and the Villa pool was wonderful, i took advantage of swimming anytime I could especially in the evening as the temperature was heated like a warm bath so relaxing. The gardens and olive trees that surround the villa are stunning with lovely places to eat only a short walk away. Thank you for a wonderful holiday we highly recommend your villa to all.

Summary: We had wonderful 10 days with our two daughters at Lea and Dan's house. The villa is in an absolutely quiet location, but still very close to the beautiful beach of Falassarna. Summary: Lea and Dan’s house is wonderful. Very clean and fully equipped place. Very quiet too with a wonderful pool to enjoy swimming at home when you do not want to bother to drive to one of the amazing beaches close by. Lea and Dan live nearby but are very discreet and friendly and have great tips and advice if needed. We loved our holiday at this house and would definitely recommend it for wonderful time with family or friends in one of the best area of Crete.

Summary: We had a pretty much perfect week in Kaliviani. The villa is very well equipped, quiet, comfortable and has an excellent pool. The location feels very private. Dan and Lea are next door should you need anything and are helpful with local tips and advice, but otherwise unobstrusive - you wouldn't know they were there. Everything you could wish for in a holiday rental. Beaches... The local beach, a few minutes walk away across the fields, is very quiet but just right for a quick dip in the sea with a small cafe nearby for a cold beer. Three of Europe's top beaches are a short drive away; Elafonissi is beautiful, and although an hour away the drive over the mountains is alone worth the effort. But aim to get there early, we arrived around 9am to enjoy the place before the coaches arrive. Balos again absolutely beautiful. 30 minutes slow driving over an unmade road with great views and lots of goats. Then I guess a mile walk down a steep track (steeper on the way back) but well worth the effort. Again arrive early, aim for 9am as the ferries offload from noon. Fallasarna, our favourite. Just 15 minutes drive away and without the tourist crowds. It's a long beach with lots of beachside tavernas. Our preference being the little beach below the Blue Orange bar. Tavernas in Kaliviani... We tried three, Agarathos, Erofili and Grambousa. All were very good value (always go with the local wine) and good food - which in our experience is true for most of Crete. We thought Agarathos the best, friendly and authentic. We ate there three times. Erofili, also very good, a little way out of the village, but with lovely views and food. Grambousa was good, but a little slick and the service not as friendly. On our trip we spent a couple of nights in Chania, which we'd certainly recommend as a perfect start to a holiday in Western Crete (we stayed at the Hanim).
