Positive: The villa is perfectly located: far enough from the main city to enjoy a quiet, relaxed village atmosphere, yet close enough that nothing is more than a 30-minute drive away. This includes the current airport (and the upcoming new airport), the ferry port, shops, restaurants, beaches, and local activities. With its spacious, open layout and fully enclosed outdoor space, the villa itself is absolutely perfect for a family. The hosts were absolutely fantastic, going above and beyond to help make our holiday perfect. On arrival, they welcomed us with a lovely touch of fresh fruit, pastries, water, and wine. They were also incredibly sweet with our children right from the start, making our whole family feel truly welcome.

Negative: The sofa was very uncomfortable and the pool had no steps and the lack of privacy as villa across the path had a camera facing the villa which wasn't good there is a dog that barks late at night

Positive: Villa Argyope is a beautiful refurbished village house in the most perfect location for visiting Knossos, Phaistos, Matala & Heraklion. Michallis is a great host, with good communication throughout our stay.

Positive: We honestly cannot find any words to suitably describe our wonderful stay at the Argyope Villa. Our hosts, Ioanna and Michalis are the kindest and most generous ones, we have ever come across. Upon arrival , we were greeted as if we were old acquaintances, visiting after a long time. Such warmth and kindness from people that genuinely embody the archetype of the Cretan hospitality in all forms. The house itself is an old family country house, fully redesigned, renovated and rebuilt by themselves, making it a lovely and cosy, fully functional space, to satisfy any traveller's needs, whether they are a family, a couple or a small group of friends. The location is ideal as it is nested in the traditional village of Katalagari, just 20 minutes away from Heraklion city, a few kilometers away from major sights such as Knossos and within 3 minutes from Archanes -an agricultural town with a long history of 5000 years dating back to the Minoan times, with numerous places of interest, taverns, cafes and supermarkets-. It has fully equipped, spacious kitchen and sitting room area, 2 bedrooms with the most comfortable mattresses we have ever slept on, a fantastic 5x2m² pool with an extra outdoor shower, and its orientation allows you to open the windows and let the cool breeze come in, without needing to rely on the a/c if you do not want to. Upon departure, it was us that felt that we were greeting old friends. All in all, we couldn't have been any happier with our choice for our vacations as a family and we truly long to book our next stay there! Ioanna and Michalis, thank you and your awesome family for crafting a wonderful stay for us! We will surely be back!
