Summary: We traveled to Chicago for my daughter’s 11th birthday and decided to go with Viceroy as it appeared kid friendly with the candy cart, pool and board games. I reached out to the management team a month or so prior to my arrival as I wanted the room to be set up nicely for my daughter’s birthday. I was told that an event planner would reach out but they never did. During check in, I stressed that it was my daughter’s birthday and nothing was done to enhance our experience. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. There is construction right next door and the front of the hotel is overrun by rats. The pool closes at 5pm and there is no music or food/bar open or a bathroom for that matter. The area near the pool needs maintenance. I was so disappointed in our experience with this hotel. I would not recommend staying there if you want a place to relax in after a long day of sight seeing.

Summary: The room was not super clean. There were some hairs in the bathtub and in the shower. It felt like the room had not been properly cleaned when I checked in. I ended up cleaning the bathtub myself. The room was nice and spacious, the closet was great. Also, I always like when hotels have a scale in the bathroom. I ordered room service the first day, and got transferred to three different people. Not sure if it was just a weird time for service (4:30pm) or if they were a bit understaffed. But it felt like they didn't have enough people to respond to requests. Later in my stay, I requested some things (toothbruth, toothpaste) and they were brought up quickly. So it could have just been an off day.

Summary: Room was clean on the surface however it could use a deep clean such as the walls etc , white ottoman was very stained. Room was on the smaller side. That part of the hotel was the staff. They were very nice and accommodating. Would not recommend doing room service for breakfast. Location is awesome Lots to do around the area.

Summary: We were underwhelmed. $94 per night for parking. We waited 30 minutes for a bucket of ice (to chill a bottle of wine). If you don’t pay extra for a lake view, you’ll be looking over an active construction site. The lights in the bathroom were very dim. The rooftop pool was fine. If we had to do it over again, we would have picked a different hotel in the same general neighborhood.

Summary: We’ve stayed at this hotel several times over the years and it’s just not kept to the standards you would expect for the price. It used to feel luxury and it doesn’t feel that way anymore. The pool deck is not well kept at all. Furniture is old and the fake floral plants need to be cleaned bad. Just not a cool’s vibe as you would expect. Our shower was dated and I’m need of a good deep clean and new faucet. The staff is always wonderful and very helpful. Just seems the hotel isn’t kept as well as it used to be.
