Summary: Clean old-fashioned, from the room, the greeting hour, bed comfort and quiet. Included breakfast superb. Second-floor access tricky if you’re in your 80s. All greeters, wait staff, hosts also superb. Finally, it’s just a 1/2 mile from a four-star ($$) restaurant…guess what? Superb.

Summary: This is our third time staying at the Vandiver Inn. We discovered it on a trip and used it as a stopover to break up a long drive, and it has become one of our favorite stops. The staff is pleasant and helpful, and the rooms are spacious. Guests are welcomed with a glass of wine in the evening. The included breakfast is delicious and made to order. We will definitely return!
