Positive: Spacious and very clean house in the picturesque village of Valdonica, not far from La Spezia. We especially loved the little decorative touches — charming figurines, dishes, vases, and flowers on the terrace that made the place feel cozy and homey. The terrace itself is amazing, with a stunning view of the valley, the river, and even the sea. There’s everything you need for a barbecue. The house is located almost at the top of a mountain — beautiful surroundings and perfect for hiking. There’s also an old castle within walking distance. Great location for day trips by car to Florence, Pisa, and Cinque Terre. Highly recommended!

Positive: Host (actually his dad) met us on the street and took us to the house. Very responsive and hospitable (although doesn't speak English, so had to use Google translate!). House is set on top of the valley with excellent view for miles.

Negative: Can't get to any shop or market without driving for 15-20 minutes.

Summary: Great house with gorgeous view in a quaint village, though a bit remote.
