Positive: This hotel offered us so much more than a clean, friendly, comfortable place to stay and top notch food. The courtyard is spectacular. The history of the building became a great surprise for us. We were on this trip to visit the places where our ancestors were born. With this building being as old as it is, but very well kept, we now know that my family would have been inside of that building as well, back in the 1850's! Sabine was a wonderful hostess and provided so much information to us, that now, we must return. Pierre's meals were so much more than what you might expect, so grateful for his culinary creations.
Negative: Well, I think just the train that ran next to the building, however, within short time, I got used to it. I was unsure what a shared bathroom might be like, but it was not a problem at all. Perhaps some towels by the hand sink next to the bathroom is the only thing that felt missing to me.
Summary: For US this was a lovely place filled with wonder and history. We will return.

Negative: No en-suite bathroom and normally this would mark a place down but it was no problem at all.

Positive: The hotel is very cozy. Quite location. Great breakfast. Dinner was also good. I stayed during the winter and was the only guest, so my case is a bit exceptional, for example, although the room had no bathroom, I had the place to myself, so for me it was good value.
