Positive: The property was great! The room was beautiful, large and with an amazing view. We completely loved the outdoor bed. What we enjoyed the most was the hospitality and care we received from Delia, Wilber and their whole family! They are amazing hosts!

Positive: I was impressed with what they were able to do on a floating island. Once in the room (large internal area plus a day bed in the balcony) one can easily forget where you are. The sunset from the daybed is absolutely stunning. They have a restaurant ready to provide simple but delicious meals. We had to leave very early and they provided a meal pack to go and transport to land at 4:30am. In winter it is very cold and they go above and beyond and even provide a heated water bottle wrapped in a blanket that keeps the bed warm all night. Amazing hosts, lovely people.

Negative: There are obvious sanitary limitations due to the fact that the stay is located on a floating island. The limitations don’t diminish the experience. I guess when things go wrong, communication is vital. The owners promptly acted on everything we needed and made sure we were taken care of.

Positive: What an incredible experience staying in this unique location! A family run hotel on a genuine floating island, Wilbur and Delia treat you like their own family. We stayed two nights and this really allowed us to enjoy the beautiful location and community. The room is beautiful, with embroidered hangings made by Delia. Very cosy bed with a view to die for, made better by the hot water bottles placed in the bed while you have dinner. Simply can't say enough how much we enjoyed this stay. Great breakfast and good value dinner.

Negative: Everything was amazing.

Positive: Pros: The people were friendly and welcoming. Our boat driver showed us around the reed islands, which was an interesting experience. The rooms had heaters, so the extreme temperature difference between day and night wasn’t an issue. The host also provided hot water bottles to ensure a comfortable sleep.

Negative: Cons: • Communication was frustratingly slow. Despite confirming our meeting point two days in advance, we could only reach the host the day before arrival to finalise details. Even then, pick-up wasn’t punctual—not a huge problem since we arrived early, but still not ideal. • Upon boarding, there was an unexplained 8-sol fee per person given to a staff member on shore. Our booking had already mentioned a 10-sol return boat taxi fee, making this extra charge unclear. • After arriving at 10:20 AM, we were told that activities like exploring the community would begin at 11:00 AM. In reality, we waited until 11:30 AM. Similarly, after lunch, we requested to try on traditional costumes and take a balsa boat ride. We were told 3:00 PM, but when we got ready— and it was a fine sunny time in the afternoon—we were told to wait “one moment”—which turned into a 4:00 PM departure— when there was barely any sunlight—and even then, it didn’t happen until one of us went to find the host. He seemed more focused on construction work than attending to guests. • Check-out was equally inefficient. With a 10:00 AM check-out time, we expected the host to be ready with the bills and the boat. Instead, we couldn’t even find him. His wife eventually settled the bill with us, but by the time we left for the port, it was already 10:40 AM—cutting it close for our flight.
