Within a 20 ha property, the gîte de Launay was created in 2016 in a 17th century building.
It has "high-end" services (5 Epis Gîtes de France classification) and is located 30 km east of Le Mans.
It is by a magnificent shaded path that one reaches this domain located in an environment totally preserved for holidays "out of time".
The cottage consists of a large living room, a large kitchen as well as 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms for a total area of 160 m2.

In the immediate vicinity of the gîte:
- 1 swimming pool (6 m / 12 m) fully fenced (could be shared with the owners) and open from 05/15 to 09/30;
Naturism is allowed around the swimming pool.
- A 20 hectare wooded park and a fully cultivated vegetable garden.
- Garden furnitures, a barbecue (gas) and table tennis equipment are also available.
- All the rooms in the gîte as well as the swimming pool are equipped with a latest generation and ultra efficient WIFI system (capacity 50 gigas entering and leaving)
History:
The various buildings of the Launay estate, of which the gîte is an integral part, began to be built in the 17th century and were originally a hunting lodge before being converted into pleasure property. The oldest constructions are the two pavilions of the courtyard as well as the central part of the main building. Several architectural modifications took place thereafter in the 18th and 19th century.
Since the early 2000s, the Launay estate has received prestigious teams every year for the 24 hours of Le Mans as well as for the famous "Le Mans Classique" events.

Summary: The house was very comfortable with plenty of room for 8 people. we all enjoyed the excellent pool especially our two 13 year olds who were in even in occasional rain. We all enjoyed the house and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, Le Mans and Chartre are worth a visit and Paris is about 2 hours. All in all, a very good holiday! Summary: Very relaxing, peaceful countryside surroundings with a Chateau as a backdrop. Facilities were excellent including a good sized clean pool, laundry, kitchen, lounge and outside eating area. Easy access to local villages and shops with Le Mans just 30 minutes away. Sitting out in the evening sunshine we saw local wildlife including wild boar , deer, and foxes. The grounds made a great area to explore and for the children to run around. This included a large grass area, woods and a kitchen garden. Rooms were a good size , well appointed with good en-suite facilities. Really enjoyed our stay and definitely would go again. The host was very agreeable and clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay.

Summary: We were two families of four with children aged between 9 and 12, with a small dog, staying at the gîte in the grounds of the Château de Launay. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, even nicer than the photos and our hosts were helpful, even though they were away for most of the week we were there. We bbq'd or ate outside every day and we're given lots of fresh vegetables and salad from the garden by David, who looks after the house, gardens and grounds. We swam every day as the weather was warm, played sports on the field behind the gîte and went for long walks in the grounds. There are several towns/villages nearby but lots of restaurants/boulangeries were closed for August, something to bear in mind if you visit at this time of year. We were happy to relax and stay put!

Summary: In a very calm, hilly and rural environnement one can find this beautiful castle with it ‘gite’ and swimmingpool. A great place to rest and stay for a vacation or any other good reason to be there. Beautiful views and eveything you need is nearby. Summary: Very well appointed and equipped property- beautiful setting and fantastic swimming pool. Hosts perfect- on site to resolve issues and impart local knowledge but mutual respect for privacy Table tennis and large lawn perfect for teenagers and ball games etc Host arranged vet visit for our dog to return to the UK Electric car charging available but only from a 3 point plug so bring the appropriate charging cable!! Property about 30 minutes from Le Mans but other day trips at least an hour away Perfect place to relax, read a book and swim in the pool…. Thoroughly recommend!!

Summary: We had an amazing week. We were 4 adults 4 children age 3 & 5 and our cocker spaniel. The owners were welcoming and full of information. There are very protective of the house & were a little nervous about the children to stay, but relaxed hugely as the week went on. You do have to share the pool with the owners but only at certain times & it did disturb or harm our experience at all. The house is lovely and has everything you need. The setting is breath taking, the children & dog ran wild & loved it. Near 2 beautiful little towns only 5 min drive with great boulangeries. Supermarkets within 15 min drive. We will stay there again as it really was one of the best holidays we have ever been on. Overall just perfect with lovely owners

Summary: Spacious living accommodation, beds really comfortable. Kitchen equipment could do with being upgraded ie bowls, cutting knives, cooking utensils. The pool was lovely although a little chilly but we wore wet suits so thoroughly enjoyed splashing about. We didn’t meet the owners as they were away, but David their caretaker man was extremely friendly even though our French and his English weren’t great. We would recommend.
