Positive: Kind staff. Perfect in town/convenient location.

Negative: In house phone did not work. Staff unavailable on weekends for issues/calls. Tv did not work. No clock in room. Would not accommodate a later check out time.

Positive: Delightful historic hotel near the water, walkable, pretty views, fantastic bar and restaurant.

Negative: Loved all, everything works well, but expect an old (1882!) quaint hotel feel.

Positive: This is a beautiful hotel built in the 1850s. The grand character shined throughout the building and in our room. The views from our room of the water and sunsets were absolutely amazing. Great location in old town Benecia in the middle of the antique shops and restaurants. Just a short stroll to the marina and waterfront park where the birds and wildlife abound. Fabulous restaurant on the ground floor owned by a great guy Gabe who is also a world class chef.

Negative: The front desk staff were only there for 3 hours in the evening. Otherwise it was a strictly do it yourself establishment. Nobody answered the hotel's contact phone when we arrived at 3 to check in and the front desk was deserted. The restaurant proprietor Gabe ended up getting a hold of the hotel manager and gave us our room keys. Despite being advertised as available there was no breakfast of any kind or anyone at the front desk in the morning for that matter. The room was a little run down and the water in the shower was lukewarm.

Negative: We found the area of the granola bars, coffee and the other small items not a continental breakfast and of our three mornings there the doors were locked before 10:00 AM. Also, kill the huge weeds outside on the side of the hotel. They make the place look cheap and less inviting

Negative: Shower was very bad, too low for anyone but a child. Ultra low water pressure and a tiny stream. Washing your hair was impossible.
