Positive: There is a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, fire pit, hot tub, deck chairs and outdoor seating. We found the bed lovely and comfy, weren’t too cold and weren’t too hot. The size of the property is great with lots of room, especially in the bathroom. We do want to mention the kindness of the hosts though, who had left a bottle of wine and biscuits for us when we arrived. It was a lovely gesture

Negative: There were a few things however that did dampen our stay a little. The first was a dirty pan and plate which had food on them. Another thing, mentioned by other guests reviews, was the lighting. One of the bulbs was out in the kitchen area which made cooking a bit difficult, although if it was working we imagine it still would have been a bit dark anyway. The main takeaway however was a disappointing experience in the hot tub. We went in it twice, the first time we noticed our skin was sore, itchy and a bit red however put this down to just us being a bit sensitive. We then did as we were instructed with the chemicals for the hot tub and got in the next day. Our skin was burning, bright red and tight. We believe we experienced chlorine rash which neither of us have experienced before (after being at spa’s all day for example). Finally, there is some confusion with checkout times. Upon initial booking it stated check out was 10am however we were messaged by the hosts a few days prior to our stay that checkout was at 09:30am. When we arrived we were met again with a new checkout time of 9am, which seemed extremely early.

Summary: Overall, there were lots of positives during our stay but also a few negatives which was unfortunate

Positive: It was exactly as described, the host was very helpful and showed us everything when we arrived and it was the perfect break we needed.

Negative: As it is tucked away and was tricky for us to find what three words would have been helpful but we were able to call the host who helped.

Positive: Location was great. Other then that I’d mention that the pub isn’t walkable due to very dark lane with no path. Hot tub was warm on arrival. Was clean and tidy.

Negative: Lighting!! Unfortunately I fell over and really hurt my hand, ripped my trousers & ruined my shoes. They really need more lighting all over the path & leading up to the cabin. Also to mow the lawn around the stepping stones as I fell over a mound built up around the stepping stones! It’s really dangerous which I found out. Also the hot tub handle was broken and holding it to get into the hot tub also fell face first in and hit my head!! So had 2 injuries here which should be really focused on!!! Also ensure the little things are there too 1. We had to go out our own way and buy a lighter to use the log burner. 2. No soap in the bathroom (was some in kitchen which we had to move about to use in both areas). Just checking the cabin too as towel rail didn’t work. Only 1 light in the bedroom worked.

Summary: Lovely cabin & great location - but 2 very dangerous elements which need to be sorted asap!

Positive: The location is very private, the hut is very clean and has all the mod cons you could need. We liked the fact that the hot tub is electric rather than a wood burner hot tub as it makes it so much more convenient. There is tea and coffee already there and a little welcome basket with wine and snacks. We got an uber into Leicester City centre for around £15 for a little bar crawl so best of both worlds.

Negative: The only two criticisms I have are that there is no full length mirror anywhere and also the bedroom needs some kind of bedside tables and plug sockets next to the bed.
