Positive: Uma Quinta is a charming and comfortable place to stay. The noice nuisance issue was a dissatisfier. If this is resolved and the cottage is renovated, this house is highly recommended, especially for (composite) families who want to spend their holidays near Lisbon. The house is spacious and the rooms and bathrooms are of a comfortable size. However, we did find the mattresses generally hard. As we love cooking, we particularly liked the kitchen. There were many useful electrical appliances available and the kitchen itself is also modern and big.

Negative: As we were a party of 9 people, our friends slept in the adjoining cottage. That had its own bathroom in addition to a double bed. The quality of this accommodation was moderate. For instance, the hot water did not work for several days (later repaired by the manager), and it was clear that there was some overdue maintenance. The manager indicated that the cottage was normally not rented out, but an exception had been made due to the size of our group. From what I understood, the cottage will be renovated next winter.Unfortunately, the cottage is located next to a building housing a religious institution. Their house (Temple de Xango) adjoins the garden of the house we rented. This caused persistent noise nuisance as seances are organised several times a week at the end of the afternoon and in the evening, accompanied by music accompanied by Latin percussion instruments (congas) and an electric guitar. As this effectively prevented us from sitting by the pool/on the terrace, it had a negative effect on our holiday enjoyment. Regretfully, the presence of the temple was unknown to us. Had we been aware of this, I don't think we would have booked the house - however pleasant for the rest. The beach is close but not really a walk sinds it is a walk along the busy road for 25 min
