Positive: We knew it from a trip some years ago when it was a hotel. It’s the same beautiful location and furnishings.

Negative: We didn’t realize from the description that this isn’t a hotel anymore, and unfortunately only realized this after reserving, when I got the message that there’s no restaurant, etc. They only offer non-refundable bookings so you’re out of luck by the time you make the reservation and get this message. We arrived and there’s no reception. We wandered around until we found the name of the room we were supposed to stay in because there’s no one to ask questions about where to go. It’s very far from any restaurant so we had to get snacks from a food truck up the road. Their check-in time is 5pm which is much later than other places. Some other reviewers mentioned that the hosts are nice, but I didn’t see anyone the whole time I was there. There was a tray with croissants, a boiled egg and juice at breakfast (I didn’t see any cheese as mentioned in the description.) If you’re expecting an air b&b experience, this is a lovely place for that. It’s just not what I was looking for and I wish I’d realized it up front before booking.

Positive: Remote and quiet. Comfortable and cosy room. Hosts were friendly.

Negative: No bar. Breakfast continental was a bit limited. Have to drive for food and beverages …..

Positive: Everything at Ullinish House was lovely! Incredible view, delicious breakfast, friendly and accommodating hosts. The room was very cozy with a well equipped bathroom and shower. We very much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.

Positive: The location was a plus and a negative. The plus was its rural pastoral beautiful setting. The house was exquisitely decorated, warm and comfortable, as if one was walking into someone’s home. There was a variety of resources, books, maps, games to do. The negative was its remoteness to cafes and restaurants which is also its strength.

Negative: Only one comment, parking was a bit crowded when full.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at Ullinish House. Firuza and Andy have created a beautiful and welcoming B&B. The location is amazing, their instructions made it easy to find and get checked in, and I loved the bedding in our room so much that I ordered a blanket to pick up in Edinburgh. The decor of the inn is so beautiful. Firuza even went above and beyond to help my husband get a fire started in the side garden that he enjoyed well into the evening. We loved our stay and would absolutely come back.
