Positive: The staff were the best. Momo was lovely and helpful. The owner gave me perfect hiking tips. Facilities were all there, cheap washing. Free onsen tickets and onsen advice.
Negative: Futon mattress takes a bit of getting used to. But this is not that much of an issue, if you know what to expect.
Summary: Great experience. Ideal for price and location.

Negative: Not a social hostel (at least when I was there, no one else seemed to be around)
Summary: Nice hostel

Positive: This is a wonderful place located right across from the geothermal park with geysers. The host kindly gave me a free ticket to the local onsen. It’s very authentic, and the mineral composition of the water is great for the skin. By the way, it’s recommended not to rinse the water off after bathing — it’s better to let it stay on your skin so the minerals can continue working. The room itself was very comfortable, cozy, and spacious. The only small thing missing for me was soap, but everything else was great. After check-out I left my backpack there and still had time to go hiking in the mountains.
Summary: This is a wonderful place located right across from the geothermal park with geysers.

Positive: Great location in a small city. Big comfortable beds and room. The owner is a guide and knows the area well and has great advise on things to do. Got a ticket for a local small onsen which was lovely, super hot but great for winter. Recommend staying a couple of nights to really expire the region.
