Positive: Beautiful buildings, landscaping and pools. A/C was appreciated. It was very quiet. Having the little market onsite was convenient. Easy to walk to beach and restaurants.

Negative: The sand flies are no joke. We knew about them before arriving in Bocas del Toro and wish we’d been more diligent about applying Off! immediately.

Positive: We had a fantastic stay at TropicalArts! Karen and the rest of the staff were amazing and went out of their way to help. It was my son’s birthday and Karen even picked up a special treat for him. The room was very clean and worked great for 5 of us. They provided drinking water and the kitchen was stocked with dishes. We enjoyed the pool, the gym, and using the paddle boards and kayaks off the dock. We found the island to be pretty quiet with less tourists while still being close to activities. There is a small market on-site and the next closest grocery store is at the South end of Carenero (~20min walk with children) or across the water in Bocas Town. Water taxis are easily available at the South end of the island for $1/person to Bocas Town or $2/person from the property if you contact one via WhatsApp. We had a great time and would definitely return!

Positive: Karen was incredibly helpful. Upgraded our room and provided tons of useful suggestions. Apartment was very comfortable. Very nice beds and the gardens are gorgeous. Views from the deck are spectacular.

Negative: Distance from the beach. 15 minute walk and the beaches on this part of the island are not as pretty as some other beaches we visited

Positive: Great/friendly staff - it felt like everybody who works there was happy to be there. Great location - away from the bustle of Bocas town Large room Beautiful grounds Karen (and staff) very responsive and helpful Gym is great Easy walking path to beach and some restaurants

Negative: Not a complaint but be prepared to bring kitchen provisions or go out for meals. Also, this is on an island and they use rainwater - don't expect long hot showers....as a consolation the pool is fantastic.

Positive: Karen the owner was responsive and helpful throughout our trip. Beautiful, tranquil surroundings nestled in the tropical forest. Large, well-supplied apartment. Easy 5 minute water taxi ride to downtown Bocas. On-site store for amenities and snacks. Beautiful new pool, stage, swim-up bar, more apartments to come!

Negative: Only one restaurant within comfortable walking distance. Getting a water taxi takes some effort & planning. Kitchen didn't have basics like cooking knives. Shower water pressure was low and there was no conditioner until requested.

Summary: A stand-out apartment getaway outside the hustle & bustle of Isla Colon immersed in the jungle
