Positive: In a very quiet hilltop location, with views across the valley, the property had everything we needed, inc comfortable mattresses, a good hot shower, lots of seating indoors and out, and beautifully landscaped gardens with tall trees, grapevines, figs, peaches and kiwi fruit. It was very peaceful place and perfect for going to Monet’s garden at Giverny. Merci Elisabeth!

Negative: Kitchen has all the facilities you need, although limited worktop space so do use other surfaces - tables for example - for chopping and serving.

Summary: Rustic French charm in the peaceful countryside, but close to amenities and Monet at Giverny.

Positive: Lovely traditional rural French property on a working farm/smallholding. Ideally placed for Vernon, Giverny, Paris, Rouen & the Normandy coast if you want to travel a bit further. Lacked the sleek mod cons that a lot of properties have these days, but for us, that added to the charm of it. It is quite isolated and without bikes we thought if we had stayed longer we might have felt a bit fed up having to rely on the car all the time, but for a 4 night stay it was perfect. Elizabeth was a very friendly host.

Negative: Washing machine would have been useful, but certainly not a deal breaker for a short stay like ours.

Summary: Perfect short break close enough to Paris but far enough away to get some tranquility.

Positive: Our accommodation was excellent, clean, comfy, a little home from home. The kitchen was well equipped so we could cook the local produce we had bought from the market that day. There is limited choice for eating out reasonably locally which we guessed as we were traveling out of season so had planned ahead. The place is off the main route but easy to get to and well placed for exploring the local area - our end goal was Monet's Garden.

Negative: It was all perfect.
