Summary: We booked this 14 months ago & looking at the pictures it looks lovely. The fabric of the building was great, but it hasn’t been maintained properly, it’s grubby & needs a lot of TLC. Do not be fooled by the wheelchair accessible tag - it definitely isn’t, with steps into the property & none of the doorways to the bedrooms are wide enough for a wheelchair. The kitchen is very underwhelming, with a distinct lack of useful utensils - definitely take your own sharp knives or pop to ikea to get one on your way. We were so disappointed that we moved to a different property as soon as we could find one (not easy for 4 adults (one disabled) & 2 children in the Easter Holidays). The young lady who deals with the house was very good and refunded us the remaining days, but the mother - who only speaks Spanish & is the person who shows you round the property when you arrive, was very hostile when we left. Pool is great - but you need to pay to have it heated in the winter months. So - could be lovely but if your looking for a spotless up to date villa, this won’t be for you.

Summary: We were expecting a lovely villa from viewing the photographs, however, Villa Elena is even better than the photos. So spacious inside and particularly outside. This is a garden to love. All the amenities we needed. We loved that La Culatta is 300 metres from the villa. The food is good at this restaurant, and the welcome is terrific. We ate there our first and last night, enjoying the Canaries wine too. Milla, the villa owner, is lovely and so helpful. Her English is no better than my Spanish, so if you have questions it is a good idea to write before departing to give her time to translate and reply. There are oranges and lemons in the garden, we used the electric juicer and had fabulous sweet O.J. every day. The villa was spotlessly clean and very homely. There is a Spar in Valsequilla, a mile away which provides everything required. The Hypermarkets are found from the main road between the Airport and Telde. We picked up some milk and bottled water from a filling station after leaving the airport. It was a joy to have no mosquitos, even the flies are small and not very numerous. Our best days out were the Botanical gardens near Zafira, 45 minutes drive via the mountain route, through San Mateo. The views are dramatic. We also liked Arguinegan from where the water taxi departs for Anfi, Puerto Rico and Mogan. There is a Fisherman's Co-Operative restaurant in the port, near where the Water Taxi leaves. The birthday meal we had there was absolutely first class. We had a local fish called Chicharo which was even better than Sole. Super friendly staff too. The front door lock took us a little while to work out. The key needs to be the right way up and pushed in prior to rotating it CLOCKWISE. The door automatically locks when you close it so beware. We like to go to new destinations, but would definitely return to Villa Elena.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in the house. It is absolutely perfect for families with children! Ours are 1,5 and 4 years old and had a wonderful time. Outside area was absolutely child safe and -friendly; with fence around the pool and fence toward street. Fresh Oranges and Lemons directly from the tree; the juice was wonderful! Plus; the children had a lot of fun picking the fruits (we are from a big city; they only know Oranges from the store ;-)). Highly recommended if you want a nice stay off the beaten track! Just as a remark: Pool was too cold to use in February; but we didn't need a pool anyway with the little children.

Summary: Villa Elena is gorgeous and the owners are lovely welcoming people. The villa is spacious and comfortable (6 adults 2 toddlers). Kitchen area is small but sufficiently equipped and we happily cooked most nights and made use of the awesome BBQ. Even in November we ate out of doors most of the time. Pool was very clean if a little chilly, but then it was November and it didn't stop us using it. The gates to the pool area, and the drive entrance, make it great for young children as we could let them run free without worrying about them falling in the pool or escaping into the village. We had hire cars and would strongly recommend them - suspect using public transport would be time consuming. No problem parking 3 smallish cars inside the drive. Happily recommend Villa Elena.

Summary: The house was great for us as a group of families (6 adults & 2 young children) to relax in the lovely surroundings. We enjoyed time by the pool and the spacious outdoor area with a BBQ and swings. The villa was clean and generally well equipped, with cots and highchairs for the children and towels and bedlinen. The kitchen had most items that we needed. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. They even let us help ourselves to lemons and oranges from the garden! If you'd like to enjoy your holidays in a more secluded area of the island Villa Elena coms highly recommended.

Summary: Beautifully located with superb views and lovely aspect; spacious, relaxing environment, well-suited to six people. Warm welcome from owner who tried to be very helpful. Excellent restaurant - La Culata - very close by. Car essential. Varied walking, although very hilly. Fantastic scenery. Thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing holiday. Would have been useful to have some English phrases translated from Spanish so we could have communicated better. Also details on bin emptying and recycling. Kitchen could do with a few more pans, in particular and cooking pots for those who like to eat in.

Summary: We had a great stay at villa helena. Mila was a good host. The villa is spaceous and includes all you need for the stay. A baby bed and chair will be provided for if needed. There are more than enough towels, plus bed linnen. The kitchen is well furnished with microwave, fridge, freezer, oven, et cetera. In the back garden you will find a shed with washing machine and outside drying lines. We had 1 week with the three of us (2 adults and 1 infant and the other week we were with 7 (4 adults and 3 infants). The pool is great and has beautiful view on the mountains. The coast/beaches are 30 minutes away, 60 minutes for Maspalomas, by car. The beds were a little short (we are tall dutch people), but the rest was perfect (3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms). We can recommend La Gulata II (?) across the street: a pizzeria/ grill restaurant with good food,but above all very friendly staff!
