Positive: Raguel is definitely one of the most special hosts we have ever met during our travels. Her warmth and hospitality are simply exceptional. Together with her husband Miguel, they made our stay incredibly pleasant and memorable. As we were the last guests of the season, we were truly spoiled :) Raguel even drove us to the restaurant every evening and picked us up again after dinner. The villa itself is very stylish, beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated with great care and love by the owners. Breakfast was more than generous, featuring carefully selected and beautifully presented local cheeses, salamis, pastries, and fruits. Our room was spacious, the bed was large and comfortable, we slept very well. Staying at Torres da Vila was definitely the highlight of our trip, and we truly hope to return one day!

Positive: The hosts were delightful people. I would gladly host them in my own home. The breakfast was delicious and generous. Rachel more than accommodated my food restrictions. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and huge windows. I will be back to this place on a future visit

Negative: For me, I am sensitive to heat, it was very hot. We were there during a heat wave, and so the air-conditioning had a hard time cooling down the room. Because I do poorly in heat, I will come back in the Spring and then everything else is great. (If you told Rachel in advance that you are heat sensitive I am sure she would turn on the AC in your room the morning of your arrival and then it would be fine too. I should have let her know.)

Positive: Raquel was a wonderful host who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable, completely spoiling our 5 year old twins! The villa looks like a palace from another era and is like something I had never seen before. It has good access to Bucacco national park, our main reason for going, and is 10 minutes driving from Luso, a cute town. If this place is free, don't hesitate to book!

Negative: It's probably not suitable or convenient if you don't have a car.

Summary: Beautiful villa and wonderful host. We would love to go back

Positive: When we travel, we always look for small, quiet and familiar accommodation. We have already rated some of them with 10 points. But Torres da Vila surpassed them all. Everything was PERFECT!!! Raquel and Miguel make you feel like you're staying with friends. Our day trips were shorter than normal so we could enjoy the accommodation longer. I could write a lot more. Just read the other reviews and if you don't stay there then you have missed something unique...

Negative: First: That you can only award 10 points on Booking. Raquel and Miguel earn 20 points. Second: That is so far from Austria :-)

Torres da Vila B&B in Anadia, a short drive to beautiful Luso and historic Coimbra, hosted by the beautiful Raquel and her husband Miguel (handsome UBER driver –our inside joke!). Torres da Vila is nestled a short drive from the hustle and bustle of a big city. The beauty unfolds after you enter the gated premises of this stunning renovated property and doesn’t stop with the warmth, exceptional hospitality and the most abundant and delicious breakfast. Don’t miss an opportunity to experience true Portuguese hospitality at its best. Pride in ownership of a fabulous home, elegant and comfortable, with tasteful amenities. This couple goes above and beyond what is expected from hosts. Don’t miss the unique underground museum at Alianca Winery … another hidden gem nearby. And Miguel’s restaurant recs are spot on. Thank you for a very memorable stay and for going out of your way to find us when we were lost, make our restaurant reservations, ‘UBERING’ us to the beautiful Bussaco Palace and surroundings. Most of all, for treating us like family while we were far from home.

Bed was extremely comfortable, room stunning and breakfast very good quality/quantity/variety. Raquel and her family are very attentive, interesting/fun to be with and made us feel very much at home right from the start. Don't miss this change to treat yourself to something very special!!! Positive: We received a warm welcome from Raquel upon entering her relaxing sunroom. Our spacious room was well appointed including top of the line bedding affording us a comfortable, peaceful sleep. Raquel prepares a delicious, hearty, healthy breakfast including fresh orange juice made from orange trees on the property. Miguel offers suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. He kindly made reservations for us for a tour at Alianca Underground Museum nearby (not to be missed). The spa town of Luso is close by as is Bussaco Palace now a hotel situated in the National Forest another place not to be missed. In line with the hotel one can visit the historical Carmelite Convent. In the forest, we walked to the Fonte Fria (cold spring) waterfall through a magical trail lined with flowering calla lilies and azaleas. The Palace hotel offers an afternoon tea at 3:30. From Torres da Vila you can plan a trip to the beach or enjoy a relaxing swim at the private walled property of the Vila. We enjoyed meeting Raquel, Miguel and their sons Francisco and Sebastiao. Do not miss an opportunity to stay at beautiful Torres da Vila. You'll be glad you did and will be treated like royalty.
