Negative: On the territory next to the house there are three dogs belonging to the owner of the house, which he refused to move anywhere. The dogs are wonderful, kind, unfortunately they barked all night, which turned the holiday into an "unforgettable" one. It’s a shame, because the house and the place are wonderful.

Positive: Perched on a hillside above the picturesque town of Comarnic, this villa is built so that it faces Valea Prahovei, rather than the road and yields expansive views of the neighboring hills and mountains. It is surrounded by at least a half acre of beautiful orchard, which was all in bloom and jaw-droppingly gorgeous when we visited. The interior is also very well designed, in that there are many cozy spaces to curl up and read, or chat with a friend, or play a board game. The bedrooms are thoughtfully not placed one right on top of another, or even directly adjoining, so noisy children won't wake late-sleeping adults. There are lots of skylights and windows, which make for a very bright space, with changing lighting throughout the day. The beds are very comfortable, amply fitted with pillows, warm blankets, and crisply clean bed linens. The kitchen is very well supplied, with several sets of dishes for different occasions (from rustic wooden plates to fancy china). I also can't say enough good things about our hosts, who graciously received us with smoked cheese, bread, fresh farm eggs, and tuica, and were available and responded quickly to any questions we had. We had a barbecue on the large deck (the grill was provided with all the necessary implements), sampled some of the house-pickles in the pantry, and enjoyed the views of the orchard and valley below. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of the hosts in providing house slippers, sweaters for those who came underprepared, and even a picnic blanket! The cherry on top for this amazing gem of a place is that it came with a very friendly, beautiful, well behaved Belgian Shepherd dog, named Nera, who was such a great playmate for the children that they really wanted to take her home . We had a wonderful time and plan on coming back as soon as we can!
