Positive: We loved our stay. The onsens are wonderful love the choice of private onsens and public.

Positive: Our first onsen experience and it was lovely. The room was incredible and the staff very helpful and kind.

Negative: The food didnt really hit the high standards for Japan.

Positive: It's an authentic Japanese hotel. The mattress and comforter is really comfy. The natural hot spring bath in the room is a plus. Grilled fish in breakfast and dinner was delicious. There's free ice cream and ramen at the certain time.

Negative: Staff can communicate very little English and there's really small flexibility in the dinner request. Every guest needs to take the shoes off when you first enter the reception area which is a bit inconvenience.

Summary: Authentic Japanese hotel.

Positive: The dinners were simply outstanding and the Restaurant staff are to be congratulated for their excellent service . The 2 ladies attending to our group spoke good English and were incredibly helpful explaining each dish . They also took note of our dietary requirements.

Negative: We truly struggled with the heating in the room . Whatever the setting , it remained way too hot and hence uncomfortable to sleep . We relied on a translator app as everything in Japanese , but either the App or settings wrong.

Positive: In-room onsen and room was very good. Very nice traditional ryokan feel. Staff were very helpful and less of a modern vibe ryokan which was nice.

Negative: The private onsens we’re tepid. Not sure how onsens work so likely not the properties fault but detracted from the stay and worth considering if you’re visiting in Winter. The kaiseki was just ok, not going to blow your mind.

Summary: Good more traditional style onsen. Rooms and staff great, location ok.

Positive: Room quality and view exceeded my expectations as did the breakfast. Would recommend having dinner there as well in order to be able to enjoy the room and onsen more. They provide transport from/to closest bus station but I would recommend just walking to it (about 20 min.), very green and the feeling of japanese countryside is nice. The Yukatas are amazing (and top quality).

Negative: The rooms aren't soundproof (so just be careful not to get wild in those).
