Negative: Such a small thing but there was no shower gel. Maybe I'm just used to that with hotels but otherwise wss great. We will come back next year!

Positive: Perfect location, very private, beautiful sunsets over fields and river watched from the hot tub with Prosecco. Very clean, log fire in the evening whilst having dinner was great, highly recommend. Hosts couldn’t do enough for us and sorted things out very quickly if anything came up.

Positive: This is a delightfully secluded one-bedroom chalet at the end of a driveway within the owners property. It has magnificent views over open countryside, and is not overlooked.

Negative: The only fly in the ointment was the 9 o’clock checkout time on a Sunday morning, which is a little bit brutal. In the event we went to a great little breakfast place in Colchester after we checked out, but would probably have preferred to be able to laze around for longer at the property.

Summary: Really delightful little place for a couples’ weekend getaway.
