Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Located near the Loggerheads Country Park and pub, albeit on a busy, noisy road. Ample space, with quirky historical character. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms. Laundry and Kitchen. Comfortable beds. Good showers with plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure.

Negative: Upon arrival, lock box code was incorrect and we could not get the keys. When we finally got the keys, we could not get them to open the door. The owner of the property had to come and let us in two hours later. Basic amenities were lacking and we had to purchase most of them. Eg, toilet paper (host apologised), tea and coffee starter pack, tissues, hair dryer, waste bins in all bathrooms, plastic film, kitchen paper and foil, light globe blown in bathroom which we replaced, kitchen knives blunt, new TV not set up (host apologised that he did not have time to set it up, we worked it out eventually). Cheap bed linen. Two wood fires which we were encouraged NOT to use. When we asked the host if there were any matches to light fires, the reply was an incredulous, fires in June! While we were there, the first week in June, the temperature was a minimum 6 degrees celsius with a top of 12. We thought maybe we were soft aussies, until we saw smoke coming from the neighbours chimney. We found an electric fan heater but it didn't quite have that romantic vibe we were looking for when we were having pre dinner drinks. This self contained property was the most expensive during our UK holiday and was the most disappointing at the price point asked. Once the host prioritises guest comfort it has the potential to be good value for money.

Summary: A Work in Progress - this property has the potential to be very good but it is not there yet.

Positive: A fantastic cottage , very spacious, comfy and felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Everything you need too Great location too with direct access into the country park from the garden. Shame we were only there 3 days , so will re book Proper value for money Host was Great Too
