Positive: The property was very comfortable and spacious, well appointed, and quiet. Pictures were accurate. It was a good choice for a family retreat. It was easy to find, tucked away and close to attractions. We loved the outdoor spaces, the option of hot tub and sauna, fully equipt kitchen, bathrooms on each floor, and dimmers on the lights. We hope to stay again.

Negative: The ground level "bunk" suite could use some improvements, ie : upgraded bathroom lighting (with dimmer), tightening the towel rack (it fell apart easily with the weight of one towel), and replacing the paint-stained mat in front of the sink. Housekeeping could do a better job with cleaning dust bunnies under the furniture and on light fixtures. We loved the option of the hot tub but the hot tub cover was very difficult to manage. There are many stairs to access this property. The main complaint is that this is a Vacasa property which was not apparent on Booking.com. The Vacasa "bot" sent too many messages with not-helpful information when I messaged questions and issues. It was impossible to get a human being on the phone for questions about signing the rental agreement. If we book this property again we will do it through AirBnB. Vacasa is a headache.

Positive: This will be one long letter continued if need be over the various question areas. Thank you for the earlier check in !! Very nice wrap around deck with a beautiful rock fireplace and eye-catching outside and inside walls. All this beauty on a lovely acre with CO aspen and pine trees! I’d love to have seen the house when built. Renting out what was a beauty has definitely taken its toll. If I owned this home I’d hire people to clean and maintain it with pride as if they owned this home themselves. We comment from our hearts at this classic house because we care and feel the owners must too! We loved the layout and various features, but are disappointed at the way in which the maintenance and consumables have apparently dropped in importance. Maintenance is sorely needed in several areas, some small, some large. We will point out some specifics later. The consumables are in such limited quantities that it makes me wonder about the motive behind this type of reasoning. Here is a high class property with incredible features and the care takers and/or owners choose the lowest quality paper towels, toilet paper, and shampoo. We paid a luxury price for this rental and expected nice! Obviously, we were quite surprised and disappointed as we looked around the house. I responded the first night to a request from Vacasa to rate the cleanliness of our rental. We rated a very generous 3 of 5. A 2 would have been more accurate. I received a response of “Thanks”. If I personally received a 3 of 5 rating for my house, I would have been over to the property to see why it was rated so low. But, nothing but crickets. We tend to rate a short term rental based on how we would maintain the place ourselves. Upon arrival we noticed that most common areas were not free of dust and debris, grass and dirt on stairs, floors and in the corners. The dining room table had finger prints and smudges obviously was not wiped off!! No, I did not take pictures.

Positive: Location was great. Easy access from the highway, but quiet, secluded location. The cabin was clean, well stocked, very spacious, loved the rustic decor, loved the hot tub. Minimal cleaning/picking up to do before we left.

Negative: We were advised to bring items like toilet paper, paper towels, etc., but those things were provided. The front door by the table is very difficult to close- we didn't use it.

Positive: The home was beautiful! loved the hot tub and sauna. The location was so close to hiking, stores, and local attractions. There were deer in the yard every day. The fireplace was lovely.

Negative: It’s a big, open home so it was a bit chilly, especially in the downstairs bedroom. Not the property’s fault, but the woodpeckers drilling into the home every morning at 7:30am was a surprise!

Summary: beautiful home in a quaint community. lots of nature to enjoy with a comfortable home to come back to.

Positive: The location and amenities were great. We loved the fireplace, sauna and hot tub. We were very comfortable there and I would recommend this house. The location was great and the neighbors were not right on top of you. You could see them but there were not that close. The house is a bit pricey but it was worth it, except for a few things … see below.

Negative: The pots and pans were awful. We stayed there for 10 days so we cooked multiple meals and it was a drag to do with the pots and pans - especially the frying pans. There is an expectation that when you rent such a high end place, adequate pans would be available. Only other thing is the hot tub is located in the front yard so it isn’t very private.

Summary: Nice house but needs a few upgrades for the price. Still, I recommend it - nice amenities!
