Summary: The resort is nice regarding the scenery, adjacent to the lake and quietness. Many aspects of the resort need addressing, including docks badly needing repair (in their broken condition, they are an attractive nuisance to young children and represent premises liability issue), the wood burning fires stoves are not operational and the website does not disclose their non-working condition to potential customers (I specifically chose a particular cabin for the fireplace/wood stove and was disappointed it was not available for use). Finally, the bed provide a thin bedspread and not other blankets. It was a bit chilly during the night. Overall, I found the resort prices reasonable and the stay acceptable.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this property. However, the cabin we were in is in very poor condition. Other cabins on the property are in excellent condition, however, this one should not be rented until it has been completely renovated.

Summary: Thunderbird Resort is a family run operation. It is reasonably priced with no frills, but exceptionally clean and quiet. Full kitchen with utensils, but no condiments or coffee. An on-site convenience store, kayak rentals (it is on an inlet of Lake Buchanan). Everything closes down at 4pm however. Signage for entrance road off hwy 2431 could be better.
