Positive: Staff were super friendly and helpful Lovely beer garden The building had many original features - stunning Breakfast was the cheapest indigence possible - cooked breakfast : one small egg, 1 sausage (cheap nasty) half a fresh tomato, 1 rasher of grim bacon. Filter coffee only (there is a coffee machine but not in the mornings!)
Negative: The hotel smelt like my Nan's House ! It was musty and old............ carpets are filthy and need replacing along with doors, shower head, lock on our room fell off, the place was full of ornaments, everything needed a good clean (communal doors had hand marks/ dirt on) Very odd smell in the dining room in the mornings ?! The place needs a deep clean and some love spent on it
Summary: Great location - hotel needs an update and maintenance

Positive: The place has character, an old coaching Inn, which we like and it's a little worn at the edges, but that's okay too, adds to the character. Cooked breakfast was good with a range of dishes to choose from. Great place for touring the area, coast or countryside. Will stay again.
Negative: A bath instead of just a shower, but we'd have had a different room as no space in the en-suite. The 4 poster bed was a wow factor on entering the room. Think the mattress could do with a thicker topper after feeling the odd spring.
Summary: A good place to stay if you're in the area.

Positive: The staff were friendly and helpful, obviously hard working. The building is historic and in a great location. The evening restaurant was good. Nice atmosphere.
Negative: It's a lovely old building with some original features but it cannot hide the general feeling of tiredness. The rooms and passageways were very shabby and in desperate need of refurbishment. Carpets worn and stained, old thin curtains. The walls were a hodgepodge of old wallpapers painted over.
Summary: Lovely staff, great location but in need of TLC

Positive: Clean, really quiet, slept like a log which rarely happens for me in b&bs. Shower worked well. Staff are lovely and welcoming. Right in central point so very easy to find and close to small supermarket.
Negative: Quite an old and run down building which could do with a bit of polishing up, however it is clean.
Summary: Friendly, quiet, handy convenient spot
