Positive: We have stayed here before. We like that we are allowed to bring our small dog with us and that the property is detached. The kitchen area is fully equipped and the hosts provide just about every kitchen item you could need. The bed is very comfortable and the linen is of good quality and is clean. Towels are provided. The property has underfloor heating and it was adequately warm enough. There is a freestanding heater if you need it. There is a very small free view tv and plenty of books to read from their bookshelves. The bathroom is wet room style which is so easy if you have mobility problems and the Aqualisa shower works well. The best feature of this property for us is the garden and island. Great for dog walks and bird watching. It’s so peaceful and was still accessible even after the recent torrential rain. Barford is well located for trips into Leamington Spa which is the reason for our stay - to visit family. The hosts are lovely and if you ask, they’ll tell you about how they generate their own electricity from the weir. 💚 *Photos taken in October after very heavy rain, hence why it’s a bit dull* but it’s still such a pretty area

Positive: Beautiful peaceful and quiet location, the hosts were very helpful and informative regarding the island and its history which made it even more interesting. the property was comfortable clean and well laid out with the added benefit of underfloor heating.

Negative: the first time that you have to pass through the outside laundry room to gain access to the island through the hosts garden is a little unnerving and you feel a like you are trespassing... however the host were extremely gracious kind and open when chatting in person about you coming and going as much as you like, maybe a small note in the guest book to let people know that if the laundry room doors are closed it is still perfectly ok to pass through at any time would make it a little less awkward.

Summary: We love our stay and will be returning.

Positive: The property is well equipped and very comfortable, the photos on the listing don’t do it justice! We took our small dog with us and there was enough room in the bedroom for his bed. As other reviewers have mentioned, the double bed is against the wall, but this didn’t cause us any problems. The bed linen is clean, is of a very good quality and the bed is very comfortable. There is a small settee in the open plan living/kitchen area and a small tv. We used the small table which extends when my son came over and it comfortably seats 3. There are washers and a drier available to use in the owners utility room. The bathroom is of a good size and there is a hairdryer and shaver socket in the bathroom cabinet. 2 bath and 2 guest towels were provided. The beautiful garden is accessed via the utility room opposite the cottage. I found this a little bit uncomfortable at first but it didn’t seem to cause any disturbance to the owners. The private island accessed from the garden via a bridge is absolutely amazing! We loved walking there with our dog, watching the swans, ducks and even a Herron! We were lucky enough to have a chat to the owners about how they generate their own power from the weir! We visited on what felt like the hottest day of the year and despite there being a fan in the cottage, it was roasting in there. We appreciate the owners cannot control the weather but feel that it’s something that should be mentioned in a review. There’s plenty to see and visit in the surrounding area without travelling too far. We used it as a base to visit our son and wouldn’t hesitate to book it again.

Negative: This is a purely personal comment which was only apparent because we had the window open. Outside the bedroom window there is a water feature that made a clunk periodically throughout the day and night. It would not put me off booking again in the future.

Summary: Well equipped small property in an outstandingly beautiful area.
