Positive: The Tollhouse is sweet, characterful, and well fitted out, with good quality crockery, cutlery and utensils. The heating system is clearly new and upmarket - but the remote operation of it problematic. The property is in a good location for exploring beautiful Carmarthenshire (and Ceredigion) and it is easy to park outside. Neighbour David helpful (e.g. with key box location and offer of heaters).

Negative: Unfortunately, the remote heating system and the damp in this old building meant that when we arrived around 7pm, after leaving home just after 8 am, in pouring rain, the building was 14C, and damp. This felt unwelcoming. A call to the owner, Justine, helped us to locate a trip switch, otherwise there would have been no heating or hot water. This property needs a local check before guests arrive e.g. has the mould from the damp been cleaned, does it feel warm, are the bedding/towels dry. The provision of a welcome pack to include milk for tea (as commonly found in similar properties) would help a friendlier feel too.

Summary: Characterful, but has issues with damp and heating system.

Positive: Good location base to explore all areas of West Wales, being in the centre for Gower, North and South Pembrokeshire and Cardigan. Ease of arrival and key collection. Lovely little remote village away from the crowds and busyness of the towns. Host excellent with communication and help during stay. How this property has been thought through and converted is lovely. Rainfall shower great.

Negative: Despite a remote and rural location, which is generally super quiet, the road noise of vehicles came right into the property, from a worn out and damaged stretch of road surface, which made sleep very hard for me. Not being able to control heating manually in the property.

Negative: This is our second stay and still problems with the heating. Bathroom shower door faulty.

Positive: I loved the little kitchen unit and the overall layout of the house. The perfect place for a lovely little get away.

Negative: It was a little cold particularly at the front of the house and there were some cobwebs in the living and bathroom area.

Positive: Fabulous cottage. Real attention to detail. Lovely sitting room, very well equipped dresser. Comfortable bedroom and great bathroom. Lovely. Super bus service. Wonderful and helpful neighbours. I would recommend the property for getting to Carmarthen, Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and I also went into Carmarthen and caught the train to Tenby.

Negative: I couldn't get Wi-Fi on. Didn't bother me as I was looking for complete break from internet.

Positive: We did enjoy our stay in this cosy little house, in a lovely and quiet location. Got everything you would need in there. The owner, Justine, was really helpful despite a problem with the boiler. Also the neighbour was helpful too. We did have lovely time exploring the area and we enjoyed the drive to Carmarthen, it is not too far away. We would love to come back again.

Negative: There's nothing not to like.
