The location is fantastic — peaceful, beautifully situated, and a perfect base to explore the area while still feeling like a proper retreat. What truly made the difference, though, was the hospitality. Lou and Aiden are incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring hosts. You instantly feel welcome — not like a booking, but like a guest they’re truly happy to have. Breakfast deserves a special mention: lovingly prepared, high quality, and simply delicious — exactly the kind of start to the day you hope for while traveling. And then there are the “resident managers”: Darcie the dog (adorable and full of charm) and Vivienne the cat (equally sweet). Their little daily presence made the whole place feel even more homey and special. If you’re coming to Motueka, don’t overthink it — stay here. We’d happily return anytime.

Positive: The waters is world class. One of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. On a Long Beach with awesome views. The service was amazing. Rob and his family were very helpful and provided everything to complement the stay. Room was beautiful and comfortable. We hated to leave

Negative: Interconnecting room meant absolutely everything could be heard in next room, ruined tbe experience for us and definately not worth tbe near $600 . Also for somewhere saying luxury and 5star there were no little touches like a bottle of wine ( it said it was a working vinyard!) ive stayed in places for a lot less who have done way more
