The Villa del Golfo *** for some years now the residence of the owners, built in the early sixties on a project by the architect Marcello Zanca who signed some of the most beautiful villas in the area, has recently undergone a restyling of the outdoor spaces , culminating in the construction of an infinity pool that directly overlooks the sea.
Located in the Capo Zafferano district on the homonymous cape, home to an old lighthouse still in operation, it enjoys a breathtaking view that extends to the promontory of Cefalù.
From the villa the sea can be easily reached being able to choose between the cliff or a comfortable free beach, pebbles or if you prefer comfort, you can access the equipped Lido for a fee.
In the afternoon you can, with a romantic walk along the lighthouse road, admire the sunset, accompanied by the shrieks of the herring gulls that populate the cliff and, in spring, with their youngsters who walk among the rocks.
From the villa it is possible, with a short walk, to reach some characteristic seaside villages such as Porticello, known for its fishing activity, S. Elia and Aspra with their Mediterranean colors and flavors and with their joyful patronal feasts.

Summary: The property was a beautiful oasis of tranquility on a lovely coast line, the pool and jacuzzi were very inviting with very well kept gardens, the breakfast supplied was exceptional and very well served we had a fantastic time and found it hard to leave, the owners were very nice and helpful, we couldn't have asked for anymore and would love to go back.

Summary: Our 2.nd stay at Maria and Aurelio´s paradise in Santa Flavia, and we enjoyed it just as much as last summer! It almost felt like coming "home" - we had great and relaxing week; enjoying the lovely Sicilian sun, the comfortable rooms with the inviting pool and last but not least the smiles and lovely company of the warm-hearted hosts. Thank you again for giving us memories we cherish with love! It´s not impossible that we will come back again... Hugs from all of us Norwegians :-)

Summary: The villa near Capo Zafferano is simply stunning and Maria and Aurelio were fabulous hosts - nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for 5 days and could quite happily have stayed longer. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with french windows onto a lovely veranda with views of the sea. The outside space near the pool was very comfortable with plenty of garden furniture for everyone. It was so lovely you could quite easily stay there all day. Breakfasts were a feast of fruit salad, scrambled eggs (delicious), pastries, pistachio cream (a local speciality) cheese and tomatoes. Lunch can be ordered at breakfast time and was fabulous. We also booked a cookery lesson which included making Arancini, mozzerella parcels, sardines with pasta and wild fennel and fried aubergine. It was great fun. It is quite tricky to find and despite Maria sending us the GPS location we still got lost so Aurelio came to find us! On our last night we had an impromptu barbeque in the garden and all the gusts joined in which was great. The only downside is that our hire car was enormous and the location is down a very steep lane. We did enjoy walking into the next village for dinner in the evening (about a mile) and you can order a pizza from the local pizza takeaway. We took a train from Santa Flavia into Palermo which was a great move as driving and parking in Palermo would have been a nightmare. The train was cheap and easy. The station in Palermo was near all the attractions and we managed to negotiate a good deal with a pony and trap to take us around. All in all a lovely spot and I'd definitely return. Summary: Maria and Aurelio's B&B in Santa Flavia is an absolute gem and we would wholeheartedly recommend it. The setting is stunning, overlooking the bay with the beach a few minutes walk away and many spots for snorkeling. The outdoor space is as good, if not better, than the photos show. There are many lovely spots to relax, unwind and soak up the sun and the infinity pool is just amazing. It's very private too and peaceful. Maria and her husband Aurelio are the most wonderful hosts. They were so generous, kind and warm to us during our stay and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. They organised boat trip, massage, diving trip and took us to the local fish market to get the best catch at the best price. They also put out the BBQ whenever we asked along with plates, glasses, cutlery and kept the meat/fish in their fridge for our convenience. I would strongly recommend the lunches they provide. Delicious sandwiches, fresh fruit, ice water and prosecco by the pool - just lovely. The breakfast spread was the best I've every seen and the most I've ever eaten! From fresh pastries, variety of fruit, local honey, crunchy bread, cooked meats and various cheeses, and other local baked goods, coffee and fruit juices. The room and ensuite was also lovely, comfortable, spacious, the interior beautifully decorated and of very high quality. They even cleaned the room everyday and provided fresh towels and beach towels daily. The local area is lovely too, with sea side villages to explore around the coast and a short drive to busier and livelier places like Palermo and Cefalu. We can't emphasize enough how wonderful our stay was. We will definitely go back as it was the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Thank you Maria and Aurelio :)
