Positive: Modern kitchen and spacious dining area.

Negative: The property would benefit from having a cosy working fireplace instead of a jukebox. The terraced garden gate was not secure, and the sitting area was full of weeds. We didn't use it.

Positive: Lovely, modern property in a great location for Dolgellau, Fairbourne or Barmouth (both 20 mins away).

Negative: Boiler is quite noisy and might keep you up at night if you’re sensitive to noise at night.

Negative: Microwave didn’t work and was reported but no reply, shower is also faulty not possible to make colder So couldn’t use it.

Positive: Ideal location for walking/visiting the nearby coast. Comfortable cosy and generally well-equipped cottage.

Negative: I'm being really picky now , since you asked! A larger duvet on the double bed and preferably a king sized bed too. A set of kitchen scales in the otherwise well-equipped kitchen. A clothes line outside - we ended up using more heating than we would ordinarily because there was nowhere to efficiently dry clothes. BTW - we fixed the dining room chairs; one had a missing screw which made it unsafe, and the others all had loose screws - a known issue with this type of chair. The fixer is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers but the design of these chairs means they should be checked regularly as they will work loose again.

Summary: Great location for walking in the friendly town of Dolgellau. The Toll House is ideal.

Positive: A very clean cottage that is quirky. The cottage has had a total modern makeover but it still keeps its charm. Upstairs maybe a bit more of a challenge if you are very tall, as there are low ceilings in some parts of the rooms. Comfy beds with nice bed linen. This area was unknown to us but the cottage turned out to be central to the places we travelled to.

Negative: A toilet that took forever to refill but I think they are seeing to that. They need a curtain or blind on the back window of the main bedroom for privacy reasons. No hairdryer. It took me a while to find the entry key box. Please note it’s by the back door. But small things - all in all a lovely cottage.

Summary: Great place to stay for days out. A modern old cottage.
