Positive: It’s a beautiful place with a lovely riverside location. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable and we had everything we needed to enjoy our visit. The coffee machine, complimentary water and toiletries were perfect and the bed linen and towels were clean and comfortable. We didn’t visit the bar or restaurant this time but it looked lovely and staff were friendly.

Negative: The only small snag was that there was a room opposite ours that was used by, I am presuming staff, quite late (around 11/11.30pm) both nights and when accessing the room, the doors would slam shut and as a result, our door shook too. There was keys jangling etc and moving things around so perhaps a storage room - it was enough to wake us all up which was a shame.

Summary: A lovely stay in a quiet and peaceful location.

Positive: the bed was comfy and the riverside location was pretty

Negative: unfortunately the hotel has been refurbished in a way that had no charm or character, and felt on a par with a basic business hotel - they could have made much more of it, especially with its lovely setting. The fake grass on the terrace was particularly poor. It was priced as if a boutique country inn but styled like a premier inn. I didn't try the food, as I opted to find somewhere with more character to eat - but that said it did seem quite busy (i was there on a saturday night) - so I guess it must have appeal, just not for me sorry

Positive: Excellent food, really friendly and attentive staff. Nice river views. Recommend the dining experience special dietary requirements fully catered for. Definitely would eat here again if I was in the area.

Negative: The room was lovely but not cleaned to an acceptable standard. I am not a fussy person but I expect the cleaners will have moved furniture to hoover under but when I moved a chair to get a better tv view there was so much dust and dead bugs it was clear that this had not been cleaned recently then on going to bed when we plumped up our pillows we exposed a pair of dirty ladies knickers which didnt help me sleep well. I expected better in a deluxe room!
