Positive: Lovly place, located close to alton towers, plenty off space ideal for family. Plenty off parking. It was red hot inside upping arriving. Nice big kitchen fully equipped.

Negative: The toilet struggling to flush properly, and the car bottoming put on the way into the yard.

Positive: The location is very nice, convenient for hiking, and with a pub right next door. The living room has been recently done and was quite pleasant. The caretaker was polite and responsive, and even came in person to help us check in when instructions were not sent.

Negative: That said, there were a number of issues. The property was difficult to locate, as Booking.com’s “get directions” feature took us almost 2 miles away. The main bathroom shower only dispensed very hot water with no temperature control. Heating didn’t work on the first night—although to their credit, they offered to come and fix it even around 8–9pm, which was very kind. We declined as it was late, and while it seemed to be fixed the next day, nothing was communicated back. There were no toiletries or basic kitchen essentials (like salt), only two dishwasher tabs were provided, and the TV sky box didn’t have a power cord. The layout of the cottage was also confusing for us.

Positive: Accommodation was private, family friendly, and had great facilities inside and close to things we had planned to do, especially Alton towers. It was clean and had everything needed inside and kitchen facilities were great! Can tell the property is well looked after. Was a great location and also had great places to eat within walking distance and shops a short drive away for anything needed. Having an enclosed garden and patio was great as well as car parking.

Negative: I couldn't fault it overall! And i definitely would stay again and recommend it to my friends and family. But if i had to be really fussy, it would be more sockets to be able to charge things like ipads and phones and to use a hair dryer, etc, beside where mirrors were placed.

Positive: We had such an amazing stay, such a lovely warm cottage. No more than a 3 minute drive to Alton towers. 3 pubs over the road. Area was extremely quiet and beautiful. Had everything you needed. Thank you

Negative: Twin beds are extremely hard not pleasant after a long day around Alton towers. :(
