Summary: Paul was a very friendly host adding nice touches such as fresh milk in the fridge for the supplied tea, coffee and biscuits. Started a fire in the wood stove and it was such a cozy evening. Really lovely place.

Summary: Well-appointed cottage that was once a stable block. Very nicely renovated with all the essentials that you need in a vacation home. Welcome pack (including a small bottle of milk!). Comfortable bed. Wood burning stove plus electric heaters. Set on its own behind the main house, it is visited by sheep grazing on common land and deer coming down to visit. Beautiful part of the country and well recommended for those wanting tranquility and calm (no tv!).

Summary: Paul met us at the property and talked us through all the cottages features and discussed the local area. Cottage was immaculate and spotless. Very comfortable beds and a great nights sleep. If you are doing the NC500, then this is a perfect stopover and very tranquil. Would highly recommend.

Summary: This is our second trip to the Smithy house and have enjoyed it both times. Paul is very friendly and helpful. We love the glittering toilet! The beds are comfortable and the room is tidy. It’s quiet and a short ride to the Stoer Lighthouse where there are amazing views.
