Positive: Great choice of real ales. Lovely historic building that has not been spoiled. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfy rooms. FABULOUS breakfast.

Negative: Would have liked an evening meal, which they don't do, but we easily found a cab to a brilliant curry house in Stourbridge and actually enjoyed going out for the evening.

Positive: The pub is characterful and the staff very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, particularly if you are travelling by train. The room was really nice, with some nice welcoming touches and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was clean and tidy. Despite the pub being clearly very popular and busy, the soundproofing blocks out nearly all noise from the pub below. The breakfast, although not included in the price, was also a brilliant way to start the day! Would definitely stay again.

Negative: Very minor things - the shower head needed some attention as it wasn't sealed correctly. There was some noise from people leaving the pub but this didn't go on too late and has to be expected if you are staying in this kind of accommodation.

Positive: Good location for us. We could have a nightcap before retiring. Helpful, chatty staff. A beautiful, quirky building. Well presented room. Breakfast available at extra charge. We didn't take up the offer but it's nice to know its there. Room was quiet. May be different in the summer when outside space is in use but ...it has an outside garden. Locals were in the pub for a quiz. Nice to be somewhere that is not simply for visitors.

Negative: Water escaped under the shower door as there is an inch gap. There are no shelves in the bathroom for personal items. There isn't a towel rack /shelf so they have to stay in the bedroom area. The caddy in the shower dies not hold holiday sized products - they just fall out. Minor things but if staying any length of time would be annoying in an otherwise smashing hotel. Pillows were too hard for our pregerence. Again a very minor criticism. Nowhere to put unnecessary bed tray except on floor.

Positive: Bedroom was large, well appointed and beautifully decorated with a big comfy bed. Delicious cooked breakfast and all the staff were lovely. Not hot dinners in the pub itself, but only a few minutes walk to several options in town.

Positive: We simply wanted somewhere to stay halfway between A and B, and with a decent Good Food Guide eatery nearby we chose The Seven Stars. Turned out to be an excellent pub with a huge range of cask ales. And the breakfast was good, if just a little over generous with the portions.
