3 Bedroom House in Fort Hill

This is a small, dog-friendly house that overlooks High Point Lake, a hidden gem that houses eagle nests and beautiful sunrises. A short walk to the public lake for fishing (non-motorized boats only), but not commonly used for swimming. It is within a few miles of Mount Davis, the highest point in Pennsylvania, a great area for hiking and has lots of geocaches for kids. Within a short drive are swimming holes, the bike trail from Pittsburgh to DC, and abundant whitewater for all skill levels. Flat water kayaks are available for use on High Point Lake upon approval. This house has the benefit of quiet but access to many small towns, Amish markets, and local festivals. Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob are about 20 miles away.
Everything you need is supplied. The kitchen is stocked with high quality equipment, plus a large range of spices and condiments. There is a BBQ on the deck. Smoking is OK outside if the butts are picked up. Pets are very welcome for an additional fee of $10/day/pet. The deck latches for them and we hope you will clean up after them. The deck gets stained every year and has a sitting area and cooler/table combo. There is a separate area for a fire-pit.
Internet reception is good and guests have access to a computer. The mountains block TV but cell phone reception works for Verizon but not AT&T and Sprint. There is a landline for local and long distance calls. All rooms except the office have TVs set up for streaming and there is an external hard drive that can be hooked up to each TV with lots of movies for all ages.
I'm very laid back and trust the guests to take care of the place. I'm constantly working to improve it. The house is best suited for 4 to 6. There is a small fee for more than 6 to try to compensate for extra cleaning and wear and tear.

Summary: Great secluded home that provides amazing views of both the mountains and of nature. Very clean and cozy. It was only my dog and I, so we took advantage of the hiking trails at Mt. Davis and walking trails along the cassalman river. Definitely a good home base for local fishing, regret not bring a fly rod along. Overall it is a stay/experience I’m planning on doing again.

Summary: My boyfriend and I visited for some quiet time away from all the craziness going on recently and that is exactly what we got. The property is beautiful and incredibly well appointed. The property manager Audrey seems to have thought of everything to make your stay better. The area is very peaceful and has a beautiful view. All the small touches really made us feel welcomed and like we were home away from home. Definitely bring your own food and beverages though because as Audrey mentioned the property is about 20 minutes from a grocery store but we had no problems making our own meals in the great kitchen which supplied plenty of equipment to make even the more complicated of meals. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience and thank Audrey and her cleaning staff for their hospitality and consideration

Summary: We needed a quiet and relaxing time away from the city and Audrey's home was the perfect place. Near Mt. Davis, the highest peak in PA, the deck overlooking High Point Lake and the amenities inside were just what we needed. We biked on the Great Allegheny Passage rails-to-trails route and took a several lovely walks at Ohiopyle and to the dam at the lake across the road. When Audrey says her kitchen is "well-stocked," she means it! There's everything you could need for cooking--even cumin seeds which I needed for the stew I was making, after I found I had brought ground cumin by mistake! Audrey was also very cooperative with our many questions about and requests relating to COVID-19 cleaning and safety procedures. All-in-all, just the getaway we were looking for!

Summary: Great place to get away and enjoy the quiet. Great view of the sun rising over the lake and fog lifting off the lake. Friendly neighbors and turkeys. House exceeded our expectations. Fairly convenient to Confluence, Ohio Pyle, Seven Springs, and the Stone House.

Summary: This was one of our best vrbo/Airbnb stays ever! The house itself is very nice, roomy, and comfortable, and Audrey has provided everything you'll need, from cooking oil to coffee to shampoo and conditioner. Kitchen is well-equipped, and we cooked our own meals with ease (including grilling). HUGE TV with streaming services for a rainy day or night-time activity. Audrey was super-responsive when there was something that needed attention. The view is outstanding. Very easy access to nearby great hiking, some right around the lake, but also at Mt Davis (and other parks only a bit further out). A real highlight is being able to kayak on the lake ... restful and bucolic, and exercise, too, if you want it. Outstanding

Summary: The attention to detail was amazing in this house. From the available firewood, the cooking supplies to the unique decor in the house. My teenagers enjoyed themselves which is not always the case. The view of the lake was relaxing and not too far from Mt. Davis and the highest point in PA. Everything we could ask for in a getaway!

Summary: Audrey was very easy to work for and answered all of my questions. The property was so much better than the description and photos. The kitchen was fully stocked, and the rest of the house was very spacious. It was very clean when we entered. The views of the lake from the fire pit area were just gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this house and the owner. I can’t wait to go back!

Summary: Audrey's property was a wonderful get-away for my husband, myself, and our young child. The house was a destination, not just a place to stay. She had the place fully stocked with everything needed for our stay (except our own food and clothing). She has a beautiful grill with propane stocked, a fire pit with fire wood, kayaks, really anything you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would definitely return. One thing to note about the location is that it is rural and a bit of a drive to get to any type of store. That was one reason we loved it though. We truly got to get away from it all. :) Thank you Audrey for your hospitality.
