Positive: Finished to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean. Kitchen was well equipped. There was no cooker however there was a double ninja air fryer, a portable stove, a microwave and a toaster. Very well equipped kitchen.

Negative: Nothing! It was tricky to find but the owners had sent really helpful photos of the location which made life easier.

Summary: Relaxing, had everything I needed for an enjoyable stay.

Positive: Incredibly clean. Amazing facilities in terms of every appliance one might ever need (air fryer, coffee maker, wifi etc). Really comfortable and immaculate everywhere. Handy location just off the M5 and near the town and supermarket.

Negative: It was a good base for what we needed but for us, being right next door to the owners and sharing their driveway was a little unusual. I know they didn’t keep a look out (!) but having their kitchen window overlook the only door to the property and the living area was a little off putting and we would use the curtain for privacy (including in the daytime) as the family (as lovely as they are) walked in and out. The shower unit was a little small. For us it was okay but if you are on the larger side, it might be a little tight.

Positive: The property was immaculately clean, really lovely decor and we instantly felt at home. There was everything we could have expected plus so much. Would be perfect for a long weekend stay. We were only there for a wedding. Lovely little breakfast hamper but if I’m being picky - it was all ultra processed foods. Maybe Wholemeal bread, porridge oats/porridge pots and some fruit or something similar. And plain yoghurt rather than artificially sweetened. But that’s just to preference. The shower was brilliant and the kitchen facilities outstanding.

Negative: The check in was later than we’d have liked, and the same with check out - quite early. 11am would work better. The bed was a little hard, but it was fine.

Summary: Gorgeous little retreat - tucked away in the countryside but not far from walks, a pretty village and full of everything

Positive: Everything you wanted was there.very clean and tidy. Lovely touch with a bottle for my wife's birthday.

Negative: Television kept buffering so could not watch much. No contoll yourself over heating. Everyone has different preferences.

Positive: Quiet, good location, ultra clean, modern finish, comfortable. Spacious, good for a couple. We came with our dog and it was easy to walk him in nearby fields, nice stream not far away.

Negative: It's not separate from the main house, so even though it is self contained, it's more Airbnb than Booking accomodation. I think it would be good if that would be mentioned in the description beforehand. Heating is connected with the main house, we were cold and asked where to up it a degree, needed to ask the owners to change that, and they weren't happy about it but changed it. We wanted a secluded space the name - Retreat suggested that... It is not a place for a technophob, no cooker but ninja, gadget style kettle with milion buttons, while all we need is boiled water... What was annoying, there's not a single hook for coats, or storage for shoes as you enter. Scrambled eggs in ninja weren't easy, especially if you need to check out quickly... You would not cook a roast if you are staying for longer or bake anything - no oven. In general - it looks comfortable, but there are things that are just really impractical, like no space to put a suitcase, lack of hook or a cooker, or a heating button, or a freezer to put ice cream or ice in, you can't even boil anything...
