Positive: The staff were very accommodating both before we arrived and when we were there. We were very well informed about the noise and who else was staying so what noise to expect. For a pub we were very pleased that the music, lights etc all went off so we were able to go to bed at our usual time. I had the first good night sleep I have possibly ever had in a hotel bed. The breakfast was also very nice. A full English although there were no alternatives. This was made clear on booking though. Breakfast was actually £15 pp for adults and £10 for children which is much more reasonable than the £25 pp regardless of age that someone claimed to have been charged.

Negative: We would have preferred a little more choice for breakfast. Maybe some cereal choices or fruit. The carparking is around the back of the pub and I drove past the entrance at first as it isn't sign posted as the car park and it looks a little like you are driving down a dark non lit alley across a pavement when you drive in. The room was an ok size for a couple of nights at the most with a family in tow.

Positive: The red lion was extremely clean , really nicely decorated and a very comfortable bed. Everything we needed in our room for a comfortable stay. We also had a lovely meal in the warm inviting bar by a gorgeous log burning stove . All in all a fantastic stay and we would recommend it highly.

Positive: Great place to stay, made to feel welcome, the staff were amazing and helpful. I would definitely recommend. We also had a meal there it was fabulous homemade food. We would stay again!

Positive: We stayed here on a hike that we were completing and received the most hospitable service we could have asked for! After walking 17 miles in the wind and rain, we were so thrilled to have been so kindly welcomed. The food was just what we needed and the rooms were absolutely perfect. Thank you!

Positive: The staff were really nice and friendly and provided a very warm welcome. The room was lovely and the beds were really comfortable with added blankets on the bed to get truly cosy. We paid for the breakfast which was made with care out of quality ingredients. Plenty of parking was available too. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Plan to visit again when coming back to see Longleat.
