Positive: The Pink House is located in beautiful gardens, just across the lawn from the owner's house. The owners were there during the time we stayed and they were extremely welcoming and helpful if we needed anything. Josline, the owners' housekeeper, is lovely. She was also very helpful when we needed anything. Josline is also a professionally trained masseuse and beautician and I highly recommend her therapeutic massage and skin treatments! She has treatment rooms just down the road at her home, but she will also come to The Pink House with her massage table if you prefer. A massage was the perfect thing for the morning after we arrived, after our long flight from the UK! Another highlight of our stay was meeting Angela, the owners' neighbour, who will bring dinner and/or breakfast to you on request! The house is well located in terms of accessibility to the beautiful town of Soufrière (about 30 mins drive) and for a visit to the Sulphur Springs and Volcano, or Hotel Chocolat's 'Project Chocolat', where you can experience making your own bar of chocolate. We had fun doing that! Closer to the house we enjoyed a lunch and a dinner at Tet Rouge, a hotel located up the hill from La Pointe, with stunning views from the restaurant terrace. Our favourite local beach was Sabwisha Beach (noted as Sah Beach on the Pink House website) which is a short drive away, on the way to Choiseul. The closest beach is within walking distance, about 10 mins along the road to Choiseul town, but its not always possible to swim there, as it is fairly exposed and more at the whim of the wind and waves. Anse L'Ivrogne is up the hill from The Pink House and is safer / easier for swimming, although at the moment (March 2025) there is a lot of construction going on above the beach. You can still use the beach though.

Negative: The village of La Pointe Choiseul is somewhat 'off the beaten track', which could be a plus or a minus, depending on what you are looking for. We appreciated the fact that we were able to witness daily island life - as opposed to staying in a tourist enclave somewhere. Being in a rustic village, there are cockerels and a few dogs around the parish, so light sleepers (like me) should bring earplugs to avoid very early morning wake up calls! I would say that a hire car is a must in order to stay here and be able to enjoy all that the island has to offer.

Summary: Fabulous rustic location and generous hosts - a real taste of St Lucia life!

Positive: Great location! Lots of things too see and do. The Gros Piton is fun and the snorkeling is great! Good restaurants nearby.

Negative: Driving is a bit of a challenge, better to use taxis to get around.

Positive: The house is set in a very nice lush garden. You can see and hear the ocean and at night the concert of local wildlife is amazing. It’s a good base to explore all there is to see in this part of the island.

Negative: An AC would have made sleeping a little easier.

Positive: Fantastic experiance of „living” in a real local community. Frederic was extremely helpful and provided us with a lot of useful information and advice. All people around were very friendly and smiling. We strongly recommend Joslyn’s massage :-). Especially after hikes. We rented a car with Martin and were very pleased with it. The house is perfectly located for a few-days discovery of central and southern St. Lucia. Thx a lot Frederic

Positive: If you are looking for something different than a traditional resort experience this is THE place to go! Still a very authentic and awesome corner of St Lucia! Sip a drink on your veranda enjoying ocean views, walk to one of the near-by beautiful beaches, or pick up one of the sightseeing or hiking suggestions which Frederick, your wonderful host, has collected for you. How about hiking up the Gros Piton (a little challenging but so worth it 👍!)? No matter which one you choose - you are in for a delightful experience!

Positive: The Pink House is in a rural setting on the owner's large property by the sea. It is living with the locals so if you do not want a resort setting, as we did, this is an excellent choice.

Negative: The house could use some more comfortable furnishings. The large wraparound veranda had only plastic chairs. Would also suggest some barstools to sit by the kitchen island. Access to any beaches is for the hardy.

Summary: The Pink House is very reasonably priced and the owner Frederick is most gracious and welcoming.

Positive: Immersed in local culture, enjoyed the clean home with lovely porch, owner is exceedingly helpful, fairly close to small secluded beach, local bread bakery and delicious local restaurant with beautiful view of ocean.

Negative: Isolated, not convenient to transit or retail, ants were a constant issue in the kitchen. Would be very helpful to have location visible on online mapping apps.

Summary: Would definitely return to this home, but tenants need to be aware of its location off the beaten track.
