Positive: Myself and my girlfriend loved Pepper Cottage because we felt right at home. It’s a real family oriented homestay with shared dinners and breakfasts every day. Rooms and facilities are super nice and clean too!

Negative: It was a bit difficult to find on the road.

Positive: I loved the homey feel of the whole place. I was greeted and made to feel at home as soon as my Tuk Tuk pulled up outside the driveway. I loved the quiet and the local nature of the place.

Positive: We had the most relaxing two nights at the cottage. Lucian was the most attentive host. The food was delicious and the hike and swim at the waterfall were magical. Loved it and would love to return for a longer period to further explore the area.

Positive: The manager Lucian is so friendly, he really made our stay in Sri-Lanka more easy by helping us out with all of our questions. The cottage is well maintained and designed/decorated with great care. The food was super tasty and fresh. The area is unbelievably pretty. We enjoyed all of it! Would definitely recommend it!

Positive: We loved everything about this place. The host Lucian is amazing and so accomodating and a very good cook. The room is simple & clean, and has everything you need + a very nice shower. The view from the garden is beautiful and if it’s raining there’s a nice living room to chill. We did a hike to one of the peaks in the knuckle range, which Lucian helped us arrange (you need a guide to come with you + special socks so the leeches can’t get you). It was challenging, but beautiful, and we were the only ones there since not many places offer this hike. It took us around 7/8 hours to complete the hike, so we recommend to start early!

Negative: The road to the cottage is very steep. It’s definitely doable by tuktuk, but if you drive yourself and you don’t feel comfortable, give Lucian a call and he will help you out!

Summary: Wish we could have stayed longer!
