Positive: We've travelled alot and stayed in many places and want to say that this was a very special find. Look for a driveway signed 'The Rookery' and its tucked away up there. The patio flat is a spacious, light and airy ground floor apartment with separate bedroom and bathroom. Both the bedroom and the open plan kitchen/ lounge room look out onto beautiful gardens which you can sit in. We visited in April when the Rhododendrons were in bloom. There is a dining table for two next to the kitchen which had a welcome basket and card on it as well as being set for tea. The hosts had also placed little bunches of fresh wildflowers around the place which was a lovely touch. The kitchen has everything you need if you intend to shop and eat in which we did. It also includes a microwave, oven/cooker and built in separate fridge and freezer. There are superstores like tesco a short drive away so you can stock up. The area is lovely. We drove through farmland to get there and two minutes drive in the other direction and you cross a bridge which is worth stopping at to watch the water and the trees. A stop at the Stable Art /Cobys Cafe after this, is a must. A recently refurbished and converted church which offers great coffee, cake and arts/crafts. The hosts of the patio flat are so friendly and welcoming. If you're looking for a quiet retreat but in easy driving distance to places of interest, this place is for you.

Positive: Nice location to wedding venue. Very large rooms. Kept clean.

Negative: It’s dog friendly which is nice, but the room smelt of dogs. We bought plug in air fresheners and candles which helped. I would suggest you leave plug in fresheners yourselves so it doesn’t spoil people’s first impressions.
