Positive: Our visit to the Orkneys on our adventure through Scotland wasn't planned, but with a last minute booking we were lucky enough to be able to spend a couple nights at the wonderful Orkney Hotel! This historic inn far exceeded our expectations. We particularly loved spending the evenings in the bar tasting some of the literal thousands of bottles of whiskey decorating the walls. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the Scottish breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend a stay at the Orkney Hotel on your next visit!

Negative: There was a problem with cold water pressure in my room, couldn’t fill the kettle and near got scolded in shower.

Positive: Breakfast was excellent, fantastic location, friendly staff.

Negative: As an older buiding there was no lift and we were on the second floor.

Summary: Fantastic location, excellent breakfast and a great bar with an amazing whisky selection.

Positive: Comfortable spacious room and good evening menu. Central location and car parking facilities good. Staff friendly but could do with more training.

Negative: I pre-booked evening meal times but was not in formed that there was no food on Sunday evening. The room service was incomplete...dirty cups left in sink and tea/coffee not replenished one day. Bacon and tomato at breakfast not cooked properly any day.

Summary: Some good but room for improvement.
