Positive: The Old Stable is a lovely place!! Beautiful cottage with everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. They left us a welcoming basket and some treats for our dog. We enjoyed our walks around the hills.

Positive: The Old Stable was in a lovely quiet location with a short stroll into town for all amenities. Loved the little garden for eating breakfast where a robin visited everyday. With the Cotswold Way being directly out of the back gate we were able to go on some lovely long walks... Surprising where you can end up. Loved the large comfy bed, handy washing machine for a quick wash, and so nice to have a large powerful shower. All the pubs were friendly. The Old Spot had plenty of outside seating though we didn't get to eat there as only served food at lunchtimes. If you walk straight up the steep hill from outside the pub, through the woods..15 mins in total...you will end up directly outside the clubhouse on the golf course. Great walk around the course too, you can go through the woods, lovely views, took us 2 hrs...dog enjoyed it! Spring Villa sports bar does a nice wrap. William Tyndale monument was worth a visit starting from Wotton Under Edge... Would definitely book The Old Stable if returning to the same area again.
Negative: Only a couple of smalls points. The winter duvet in 35 degrees!...we striped it and just used the cover...though this would have been super cosy on colder nights. Would be handy to have a floor mop and some multi purpose cleaning spray...

Positive: Appears to be newly renovated, to high standard. A nice welcome bowl, of eggs, fancy tea bags, cookies, a pint of milk in the fridge too.
Negative: Stay was just me and the dog, I booked because it was dog friendly, however I didn't realise I needed to arrange this with the owner. Owner didn't like this, and wanted another £30 for extra cleaning and providing a few biscuits, and a towel. Dogs are not allowed upstairs, on furniture or to be left alone, because of that I wouldn't book again. Nit picking but unfortunately the weather has been very wet and the road between the parking space and entrance was full of puddles and no light to negotiate in the dark. The light above the door is not aiming down so not great. EV chargers locally aren't great, Tesco have 4, (podpoint) Sainsburys is currently free ( podpoint) but everyone knows so busy. There are 6 to the left of the gym at the bottom of Drake lane but most spaces say permit only.So providing a charge point at the accommodation would be great.

Positive: The location of the property is lovely. Just outside the town and having a paddock to walk the dog around is a real benefit. It was nice having some privacy for the garden and patio area. The decor of the Old Stable has been done nicely and it was nice to imagine it with horses in years ago.
Negative: Only small things!! The garden area was smaller than anticipated - the photos on the website made it look larger. Having a downstairs bathroom was a nuisance, especially if having a dog that you don’t want to disturb during the night or early morning (but that’s our personal preference-other people might be ok with it) Only 1 toilet roll and 1 black sack for rubbish for the whole week was not really enough (had to buy more) and there wasn’t a designated bin for dog waste.
Summary: A lovely, peaceful stay in a beautiful location.

Positive: These are some of the small touches we loved. The picture by the side of the bathroom door. The coat hanger in the bedroom that was modelled on a tool. The cookies after a long journey. A very comfortable large bed. The neutral colour schemes are calming. The paddock is an amazing space for our dog and the walks beyond. The redwoods in the wood are amazing We love the area, it has a lot of beauty on offer. Good luck for the future. Dave, Lynne and Bilbo.

Summary: Beautiful area, lovely conversion of a stables. Very quiet and calm to stay here and not far from town.
