Positive: The Old Smithy is a lovely cosy cottage sleeping 5 people across 2 floors. It is dog friendly and there is parking. Very clean with some basics provided and a gift of snacks and wine. It is beautifully decorated and styled.

Negative: Just to note the stairs are steep so unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Summary: A lovey quiet cosy cottage on the outskirts of Trowbridge with easy access to Frome and Bath.

Positive: cottage is super cute and comfortable, bathroom and bedrooms were excellent too. Visits to Bradford on Avon and Corsham are a must, both beautiful and within 25 mins drive.

Negative: The lounge is cute and looks lovely, but there is not enough seating in lounge for 4 adults, unless you squish on the couch or someone sits on the floor. The quality of the pans and trays in the kitchen could be better, but were sufficient. We had two cars and found it was difficult to reverse out of the driveway and almost impossible to turn right onto the main road as it is so busy, so we ended up turning left most of the time

Positive: The ground floor was spacious and suited our needs as we were on a sewing retreat. Great light in the kitchen diner. Comfy lounge. Free toiletries.

Negative: Lack of hand rails on the stairs, which were steep and it was difficult to balance and one had to hang onto to wall. A slip mat in the shower cubicle.
