Positive: I loved the garden and being able to eat outside listening to the birds. The bed and bedding were fabulous.

Summary: I loved my short stay in this picturesque cottage. It had everything I needed.

Positive: The location of Hambelden is always going to be nice, and on South African heritage day, you could not complain. The Stag and Huntsman is an amazing place to visit for this. The Old Butchers Inn was a nice place to stay but wasnt worth the high price compared to other surrounding places including the Stag and huntsman

Negative: The cost was £50 more expensive than the Stag and Huntsman, however this was wally booked at the time so didnt have a choice. The room did not an en-suite and only included a communal bathroom, which we were aware of. if we wanted the luxury of behing able to shower in private we had to pay extra for a room that had this The comuncal bathroom only had a bath tub not a shower. The doors to the room are old cottage doors so loud when you lifted the latch or unlocked the door, this meant anyone using the communal bathroom in the middle of the night would end up waking other guests, as this is what happened to us. This was more of a Air BnB with a help yourself to the kitchen and lounge feeling. The bed made you feel like you were going to fall off the sides if you got to close the edge, almost as though the mattress was larger than the base.

Summary: Lovely place, but cost seems high for what you get.. but this is hambleden.

Positive: Gorgeous village location, with a pub, post office/convenience store and church, a short distance from Henley on Thames. The property itself was lovely, nicely decorated whilst keeping some old features with plenty of space for a group of 6 or 3 seperate couples. There's also a well kept garden. Generous contintental breakfast. The owner was quick to respond to any questions/requests.

Negative: Little sqeak on a bedroom door that could do with some WD40, but I'm being really picky here!

Summary: A great place to stay, fully recommended.

Positive: We had a lovely stay and it was exactly what we wanted. Booked last minute because we had a tasting at Chiltern Valley Winery. Excellent communication from the host, parking and breakfast included and we asked to leave our breakfast out so we could choose when to eat, which worked very well. We stayed in the double room but there were no other guests so it was very quite Beautiful village location near a lovely pub and the accommodation was clean and well finished

Negative: The instructions for the front door could be clearer and the shower for our room is over the bath but we had a great stay
