Positive: The building is absolutely lovely, with the high timbered ceiling in the open plan drawing room/kitchen particularly stunning. One gable window overlooks the fields, with cows and Dartmoor ponies, sometimes right outside the window. The bathrooms are finished to a high standard, with lovely rain showers and deep baths. The bedrooms are light and airy with very comfortable beds. Outside, there is a little terrace area with a table and chairs, which when the weather is good is lovely to have. The owners had provided a cream tea on arrival and had thought of everything we could have possibly wanted during our stay. Overall its a lovely base to explore the Moor from.
Negative: Nothing!

Positive: Helen and Sean came to welcome us on our arrival and gave some good advice on the local pubs and places to visit and eat. There is a short stroll to collect some very reasonably priced local farm eggs. The Oak barn is beautifully decorated and well equipped with very comfortable beds. Everything was very clean and tidy. We all enjoyed the sauna. Even our 5 year old managed 10 minutes! Helen and Sean had the right balance of being there if we needed them and allowing us to relax.we had a minor problem with a bath plug, which was quickly dealt with. The local pubs are very good, with great food if you don't feel like cooking. The local shops are not too far by car in either Bovey Tracey or Ashburton. Our hosts recommend the cafe on the green, in widecombe for breakfast, and they were spot on. It was delicious. Dartmoor is stunning, and if you enjoy walking, there is some truly beautiful scenery to enjoy on your walks and you can see the lovely Dartmoor ponies. There is a craft fair in the church hall on a Thursday with some truly talented people displaying and selling their work. There is a wider selection of shops in Newton abbot and banks, should you need them.. We look forward to visiting the Oak barn again in the future, and we would definitely recommend this place and the hosts, Helen Sean and Naomi.
Negative: I really can't think of anything.
